J.Jewels talks about his chart-topping single #IttyBittyBumBum & his blueprint for success with RNH Mag.

.JEWELS

What is your artist name?

J. Jewels

Explain what your name means?

J. Is the initial to my first Name, Jimmy, the Jewels is because I plan on bringing and dropping Gems on them…. Nah! Jules is my last name i got creative with it, and went with the different spelling.

What city and state are you representing?

I am originally from Haiti, so Rep that, I have lived in Boston for decades, but i can’t really say I Rep Boston, because you need a different type of music for that. I am doing music that I love to do and want to make people have fun and enjoy themselves no matter where they are from or rep…. If I had to choose where I rep, I would say let’s go with the Entire New England!

Describe your style of singing or rapping?

Oh man… i love and listen to everything… from Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Pop, Country. You can find a blend of all of it in what i do. I just love good music and i don’t ever want to be branded into one category.

Who inspired you to pursue a music career?

Music inspired me to take this artist thing serious and see how far i can get. I have helped so many get there and make it and now i am putting on that artist hat and giving it a run. I only have had this Artist hat on for about six months now and hear we are.

What challenges did you face as a youth in pursuit of your music dream?

As a youth as was never focused or ever wanted to be a artist, my focus was more on running a business, being a DJ and making people have fun. When i did try the artist thing I found myself wanting to help out other talented artist instead so i left being a artist alone and focused on helping others first. The challenge back then for me was trying to stay focus on being an artist and not go towards producing someone else instead. I will always love producing and always want my hands in all aspects of the music.

Describe your feelings when you’re recording music in the studio?

When i finally get in the booth to lay down what i have visioned in my head for weeks, sometimes months even on certain cases years… there is really no words to describe it and hearing the final product once mixed and mastered is one of those accomplished feeling of meeting goals and back to setting new ones. It never stops! I think i am going to go broke if i keep this up.

What is the message behind your music?

I love telling stories, i make music people can sing along with, dance have fun and relate to.

What do you fear the most in this business?

Since I am not with a major label, I fear people not really giving my music a chance because they are all over the majors and no matter what they put out they will support leaving no room for the little guys. I plan on running a lot of that and my plan is to expose those people. I will take that fear and use my voice and following to expose them for who they are. My fear will become their fear so don’t you dare stand in my way… You know who you are!!!

Are you excited to be featured in RNH Magazine?

I am very excited to be Featured in RNH Magazine. Who in their right mind would not be happy on getting exposure? Come on now, let’s do this, I am ready, i just hope RNH is ready for me. Are you?

Hollywood Prada shares her blueprint for success & reveals why her career is on #THECOMEUP with RNH Magazine!

.HOLLYWOODPRADA

What is your artist name?

Hollywood Prada

Explain what your name means?

My name represents the duality. Hollywood is the brash, head strong a**hole and Prada is the more demure, focused, laid back lady.

What city and state are you representing?

Was born in NY but live in and love the A. (Atl)

Describe your style of singing or rapping?

My style is simply self expression. Doesn’t sound like anyone, just my thoughts arranged in sync with the music.

Who inspired you to pursue a music career?

Life inspired me. I have so many muses, it’s hard to just pick 1. — Love and life are my biggest influencers.

What challenges did you face as a youth in pursuit of your music dream?

As a youth, I was hard headed and arrogant. I would say the biggest challenge was personal development. I had to learn myself better and learn to discipline myself in order to make the things I desired, manifest. I came from the Hood, but no matter — I had no idea of that until I was an adult. Another huge challenge for me was people telling me what I could and couldn’t rap about — or to change my content and THEN, I’d blow. . . Fuck that.

Describe your feelings when you’re recording music in the studio?

So many emotions when recording. Its still therapy for me really. So when I record it’s getting some feelings off my chest, or telling a story. But the studio is my sanctuary — my little safe haven where I’m free to lat it all on the line. Well, the studio and the stage.

What is the message behind your music?

The message is, Fuck conformity. Its OK to be yourself. Its OK to not follow what everyone else is doing. Its OK to non-conventionally pursue your dreams and not compromise you or art for worldly tithes or recognition… it’s OK to be #DeepDope.

What do you fear the most in this business?

A paradigm shift that makes me become like them. [They] rather. — I don’t care for fame. I’ve seen that beast destroy ppl… I’m cool on that.

Are you excited to be featured in RNH Magazine?

yes

How can people reach you on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook & etc?
