Q: ARTIST NAME?
A: CoCo G
Q: Describe your style of Music?
A: I would say that my music is very interesting. I have a variety of music. I don’t just make music to hear myself speak. I do it so people will be motivated to get up the next day or put the gun down. I want to let the world know it’s okay to be down sometimes because once you at the bottom the only way you can go is up. I enjoy giving the people something different to listen too.
Q: Explain what your name means?
A: “CoCo G means CoCo G” the name speaks for itself. In anothe case when name plate belts been boomin my name “Codrian” was to long so my mom said CoCo or G. I said CoCo G
Q: What city and state are you representing?
A: I come from Saint Helena island South Carolina SHOUT OUT to Gullah Gullah. 843/838
Q: Describe your style of singing or rapping?
A: To be honest I can’t really sing. I can hold a note though and I don’t sound to bad singing my own songs versus trying to sing someone else’s song and trying to sound like them. When I rap I put my heart and soul into it. I’ve been through so much in my 23 years of living I have a lot to talk about. So it’s a very interesting style. I’ve mostly freestyle the majority of the songs I’ve made. Had I written versus for them they would have been a lot better, but I’m recording and mixing myself inside if a library. That I often get in trouble for being to loud in. Hard work pays off though. Interestihttps://www.instagram.com/iiscocog/?hl=en
ng style didn’t I tell ya.
Q: Who inspired you to pursue a music career?
A: My brutha Rusty Grand inspired me to do the music. We’ve been freestyling to Rick Ross hustling beat for years and still haven’t came up with a song for it yet. That’s just what we did all day listen to beats freestyle and maybe write. My brain moves faster than my hands so it’s hard to write what I think most times. I go so hard in subhead by the time in supposed to wrote it down I done forgot. Although I forgot I keep going. This time I’m writing it though. Rusty Grand told me sticc to it listen to GOD and all things will happen for you.
Q: What challenges did you face as a youth in pursuit of your music?
A: Financially I’ve struggled mybwjole life from born til now. Still struggling. I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to do in life this far besides what I actually wanted to do as a kid but didn’t because no one believed in me or said get a real job. If it pays the bills and keep a roof over my head it’s a job to me.
Q: Describe your feelings when you’re recording music in the studio?
A: I don’t have feelings in the studio. Feelings interfere with the focus and task at hand. If Jim and John beefing not a good recording night. If Jake girl mad at him he don’t even wanna record he ain in the mood. NO FEELINS. Only feeling I got is “I FEELIN GUD”
Q: What is the message behind your music?
A: I want people to understand that everyone is unique in their own way. Don’t judge someone off of one situation because you never know what somebody is going through or whY they doing what they do. Mind your business do you be great and you’ll have less problems. Yeah I know that sound good in all but in reality I just want the people to feel my pain and see I done struggle for a long time but I still smile.
Q: What do you fear the most in this business?
A: I fear that one day it all has to come to an end. Only if you let it be the end. There’s more positions in the business than JUST rapping. I may end up Producing and managing by the time the rapping is done, but I’ll probably be rapping while I’m a mummy or something. I Fear GOD and GOD ONLY
Q: Are you excited to be featured in RNH Magazine?
A: I’m very excited very greatful and appreciative as well. I would’ve never experienced this GOLDEN OPPURTUNITY had it not been for the entire TEAM supporting me. This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity I can honestly say “I’m living my best life”
