Potter Payper releases his new album ‘Real Back In Style’

On Friday, May 12, Potter Payper released his long-awaited debut album, Real Back In Style, through 0207 Def Jam. The album features 15 dope songs for fans to enjoy. Along with the album, the East London star Potter Payper has released an animated video for the album’s closing track, “White Ash,” a Joe Stanley and GX production which shows him reflecting upon his criminal past and current career.

Earlier this week (May 15), Potter Payper continued his promotional campaign by performing the title track from the aforementioned project on the latest episode of “COLORS.” The Jason Julian and Kyle Evans-produced track follows Potter Payper’s ongoing tradition of delivering vivid rhymes about the hardships he has overcome and how it impacts his life now.

KAYTRANADA and Aminé deliver a new single titled “Rebuke”

It will be very interesting to see what Aminé and KAYTRANADA do this Friday (May 19). The two artists will be presenting KAYTRAMINÉ, a 12-song album that will feature Big Sean, Snoop Dogg, Freddie Gibbs, Amaarae, and Pharrell Williams, the last of which opened the album with the lead single, “4EVA.” The duo Aminé and KAYTRANADA also released a second song that they have titled “Rebuke.” The album is centered around the topic of moving on from a relationship, and it essentially serves as a guide to teenagers.

The project will be Aminé’s latest piece of work since his 2021 mixtape TWOPOINTFIVE, which was released in the summer of that year. As for his sophomore studio album, Limbo, which came to be released in 2020, he received contributions from the likes of slowthai, Young Thug, Summer Walker, Vince Staples, and JID.

While the album is still a top-notch record, it’s been four years since KAYTRANADA released BUBBA, a genre-bending album that featured collaborations from SiR, Kali Uchis, Tinashe, Masego, GoldLink, Estelle, Durand Bernarr, and more. There have been a number of Canadian producers whose soundscapes have provided soundscapes for many others, such as Ella Mai, Joyce Wrice, Mick Jenkins, D Smoke, IDK, PinkPantheress, Lancey Foux, Kelela, and Don Toliver.
