Another white professor admits to pretending to be Black

After confessions by a college professor as well as an activist of Black Lives Matter activist, one more white person confessed that they have been pretending to be Black. CV Vitolo-Haddad — who uses nonbinary pronouns — stated that they are resigning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Medium, and they confessed about lying about their race.

“I am so deeply sorry for the ways you are hurting right now because of me,” they wrote in an essay titled, “A First Step.” “You have expressed confusion, shock, betrayal, anger, and mistrust. All of those things are a consequence of how I have navigated our relationships and the spaces we share.”

“I have let guesses about my ancestry become answers I wanted but couldn’t prove,” Vitolo-Haddad continued. “I have let people make assumptions when I should have corrected them.”

In another essay, they clarified that they are actually Italian, though they have been pretending to be Black and Cuban.

“It was my choice and error to identify any differently,” they wrote. “… When asked if I identify as Black, my answer should have always been ‘No.’ There were three separate instances I said otherwise.”

“I should have never entered Black organizing spaces,” the essay continued. “They are not my place. Once realizing this, it wasn’t sufficient to just leave; I should have explained that directly to the people who invited me and clarified my identity.”

The reports revealed that a job offer was presented by California State University, Fresno, which has been rescinded later. Later, a statement issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison confirmed Vitolo-Haddad’s resignation as co-president of the university’s Teaching Assistants’ Association (TAA).

“We condemn CV Vitolo-Haddad’s appropriation of Black and Brown identities in no uncertain terms,” the TAA Executive Board and Racial Justice Committee of UW-Madison said in a statement. “They have resigned as co-president, and we have removed their access to our website, social media, and all other internal accounts.”

“We cannot speak for CV, but we as TAA leaders are profoundly sorry for the harm they have caused members of the Madison community by 1) claiming Black and Brown identities, 2) using those identities to silence and alienate activists in organizing spaces, and 3) manipulating and gaslighting Black and Brown community members who tried holding them accountable.”

Lil Wayne’s original version of ‘Tha Carter V’ will release this Friday

Lil Wayne’s original version of ‘Tha Carter V’ will release this Friday

Early birthday celebrations of Lil Wayne kicked off as exciting news emerged. It was on Monday (Sept. 21) that Mack Maine, the president of Young Money Entertainment and a frequent collaborator, practically announced two gifts – for Weezy’s garage and one for his fans.

The video was shared on Young Money’s Instagram, wherein Maine chose to announce that the original version of Wayne’s 2018 LP Tha Carter V will be released on Friday (Sept. 25). This news was announced as the rapper was driving the other present aimed at Wayne — an amethyst McLaren.

“I heard y’all always wanted that OG CV, ya heard?” Maine said while driving the flashy new car and playing what appeared to be an unreleased Wayne song. “I’m bumping that [CV] right there and I’m gon’ make sure y’all can bump it, too. Carter V Deluxe — OG Carter V — baby. Happy birthday, Tunechi! The GOAT!”

Then, Maine pulled up to Weezy, who maintained a smile while taking a video of his new car.

“Y’all saw that smile? That’s what I did it for,” Maine said. “That smile was priceless. Just to see my little brother smile like that, I feel like I did my job.”

Initially, Tha Carter V was supposed to release in 2014. But a revised version of the album was released four years later, due to a long feud with Birdman as well as a contractual dispute with Cash Money Records. Later, some tracks from the original version of the album were leaked, which include “Just Chill” with Justin Bieber and “Mute” featuring Big Sean. There is no clarity regarding which tracks- the ones that were leaked or never heard- will be released in the upcoming version.

That’s not all! Recently, Wayne also teased his fans with the series’ next installment. In an appearance on ESPN, the rapper stated that “Carter VI [is] coming soon,” but not before another sequel — No Ceilings 3.

“I got No Ceilings coming first,” he explained. “No Ceilings 3.”

These two projects come after Wayne’s Funeral album released this year.

Loon and Diddy Reunite After Former’s prison release

Loon and Diddy Reunite After Former’s prison release

After his prison release, the rapper who was previously known as Loon reunited with Diddy.

It was on Sunday (Sept. 20), that the former Bad Boy signee posted pictures of the duo smiling, hugging, and talking to each other, as they got together at Diddy’s home in Los Angeles, California. “Everything is not what it seems,” he captioned the photo. “After all that we’ve been through, the love cannot be denied. We’ve traveled the world together, made millions together, and at times we may not have always agreed, but by Allah, if I hadn’t experienced the things that we went through, I wouldn’t have become the man that I am today!”

The duo first partnered up for Diddy’s “I Need A Girl” as well as its sequel, before Loon released his debut album in 2003 on Bad Boy Records. Back in 2008, Loon decided to quit being a part of the music industry, converted to the religion of Islam and became Amir Junaid Muhadith.

In the year 2011, Loon was charged with conspiracy of distributing more than one kilogram of heroin and he received a 14-year sentence. In 2012, he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin. After serving 9 years of his prison sentence, he was released early, as US District Judge Terrence Boyle pointed out that the Coronavirus pandemic is an “extraordinary and compelling” reason, particularly because of his previous health issues. Moreover, Boyle deduced that Loon was not a societal threat.

After the news emerged about his release, Diddy took to social media to write “God is great. Welcome home. Get at me king. Love.”

Later, Loon spoke to “The Breakfast Club” and revealed that it would be “good” to chat with Diddy although he no longer intends on making music. “It would be a whole new space for us,” he said at the time. Speaking about his separation from Bad Boy Records, Loon explained that it was merely “business,” and that his relationship with Diddy did not deteriorate.

Smoke DZA, Wiz Khalifa , Big K.R.I.T., & Curren$y get together for “Santos Party House”

Smoke DZA, Wiz Khalifa , Big K.R.I.T., & Curren$y get together for “Santos Party House”

Smoke DZA collaborates with rappers Big K.R.I.T, Wiz Khalifa, and Curren$y in his latest single “Santos Party House. This video comes right before his upcoming project Homegrown, which will release on streaming services on Oct. 2. Before “Santos Party House,” DZA’s single “Hibachi” was released, which featured Flipp Dinero and Jadakiss.

This track was produced by Girl Talk and shows DZA, K.R.I.T. and Curren$y trade bars as Wiz walks in smoothly for the catchy hook. “Santos Party House” is accompanied with a fun animated cartoon, wherein the four rappers can be seen donning their own merchandise and signature fits, as they make their way through the city to meet each other and perform a live show together. The cover art of the new song aligns with the theme, since it is a mock flyer for the live show in the song.

Curren$y is also gearing up to satisfy his fans this year. A few days ago, the veteran from New Orleans launched a new visual for his track “Mugallo Red” featuring Rick Ross. In July, Curren$y collaborated with producer Harry Fraud to create the joint EP The OutRunners. Smoke DZA and Wiz were featured on Curren$y’s La Marina in 2018.

Smoke DZA spoke about a variety of topics on an episode of Drink Champs, such as the influence of Big L:

“To somebody like me that was born in the era of Big L and studying rap patterns, and studying Big L himself, he is Mt. Rushmore,” DZA says. “It’s certain young kids like my artist Jayy Grams that actually is meticulous to certain rap music and studying patterns and watching battle rap and doing different shit to sharpen his sword. Studying somebody like Big L would work for him ‘cause metaphorically, how he set up his bars, structure, the type of beats he rapped on — for someone that caters to lyrics — like Benny the Butcher, that is shit that kids could take. That’s nutrients and vitamins.”

Ray J opens up about divorcing Princess Love

Ray J has revealed that filing for divorce from Princess Love was “the best thing to do.”

This week, the 39-year-old singer began to fill up the paperwork to legally end the marriage, after a brief reconciliation wherein the “Love & Hip Hop” star rescinded the divorce documents filed early this year.

Speaking to “Entertainment Tonight,” he said: “You know, I love her and I love my babies and it’s just personal, but she knows how I feel about her.

I just think that I want to make sure everybody is happy, that everybody enjoys life and that this can help her smile more and enjoy who she is and enjoy her life. You know, sometimes it’s the best thing to do.”

Ray has a 2-year-old daughter Melody and 8-month-old son Epik with his wife. He revealed that he did not seek the advice of his friends or family as he didn’t want “too many opinions” on the matter, and he is still unsure as to “what’s going to happen.”

He added: “It’s still so early, I really don’t know what’s going to happen, how it happens, but I just want to make sure that my babies and my Princess is in a great place mentally and that they can enjoy life.

“My wife, if there’s somebody better out there that she wants to be with, then I have to respect that as well. But hey, I don’t know… I can’t say too much, but I love you, Princess. That’s what I can say.”

He also divulged that there is scope for reconciliation of the couple, since it is important for them to stay in each other’s lives for their children.

He explained: “Even if we don’t make it, we still have to be with each other a lot, because we have a baby, so we’re together for life.

“Happiness is important. I think. I’ll sacrifice all my happiness for my kids.

“With that said, we’ll just have to wait and see [what the future holds], but I want to make sure that they’re in a good space, and that she’s in a great space throughout this journey as parents as well.”
