Papoose taps French Montana and Conway The Machine for new song “Kickback”

A taste of Papoose’s upcoming project Endangered Species can now be enjoyed. The latest track titled “Kickback” has been released, which is a collaboration between the New York OG and French Montana and Conway The Machine, and demonstrates the signature grit of NY rap. It has been confirmed that the full project will be released on October 9.

This project will be the first release of Pap since his 2019’s Underrated, which featured Remy Ma, Angelica Villa, Musiq Soulchild, Casanova, and DJ Premier. Back in June, “Tribute” was released by Papoose, which was a track grieving all the Black people who lost their lives in police custody, including George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Amadou Diallo, and more.

Papoose has often used his music to address acts of injustice. Previously, in 2012, he released “Trayvon Martin Tribute,” on his mixtape Most Hated Alive. In an interview with “The Real,” he also spoke about how he has been dealing with life and death during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic:

“One of my cousins passed away from coronavirus … one of my uncles passed away and the hospitals are so focused on COVID-19, that they’re not really catering to them. So it was a neglect thing but you can’t question God’s plan. I have a ton of friends who actually have coronavirus so it’s rampant. It’s really hit home.”

Conway The Machine had recently released his new album From King To A God. With 15 records, the project features Dej Loaf, Method Man, Havoc, Lloyd Banks, Freddie Gibbs, Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, and more. French Montana collaborated with Mr. Swipey and Fivio Foreign for the “That’s A Fact (Remix),” keeping the New York collab spirit alive.

Janelle Monáe shares powerful “Turntables” video

Just last week, Janelle Monáe released an empowering song titled “Turntables.” Today, she shared the corresponding video, which would be used in the Amazon Studios documentary All In: The Fight for Democracy. The film directed by Liz Garbus and Lisa Cortés is part of Amazon Studios’ campaign to improve voter turnout during the 2020 presidential election season.

The latest video includes several scenes related to protests as well as documentation of the fight against racial oppression, and eventually focuses on Black strength, unity, and excellence. Nate “Rocket” Wonder, who has been her collaborator for a long time produced the song.

“I leaned a lot on him and the book that I was reading [Ibram X. Kendi’s How to Be an Anti-Racist] and realizing that I have to be the energy for other voices who are putting themselves on the front line,” she explains in an interview about the song. “I’m thankful that the spirit was able to move through us.”

Since “That’s Enough,” that was released last year, “Turntables” is Janelle Monáe’s first official release. The former appeared on the soundtrack of the live-active re-release of Lady and the Tramp. Monáe’s last full-fledged project was Dirty Computer which was released in 2018. The album was widely appreciated and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. It included features from Pharrell Williams, Zoë Kravitz, Grimes, and Brian Willson.

The artist has also been working in front of the camera as she is all set to appear in the Amazon documentary, The Glorias, and Antebellum (from the producer of Get Out and Us). Earlier, she featured in “Justice For Elijah McClain” campaign’s public service announcement, pushing officials in Colorado to charge the officers involved with McClain’s death.

Cardi B’s divorce papers amended as she demands ‘amicable’ split from Offset

Cardi B’s divorce papers amended as she demands ‘amicable’ split from Offset

According to reports, Cardi B wants her divorce from Offset to be “amicable.”

The singer recently filed paperwork to end her three-year marriage to the Migos rapper and it is now reported that she wants her legal team to change paperwork as they allegedly implied that she had a problem with Offset’s style of parenting.

Initially, Cardi’s paperwork sought legal custody and primary physical custody of her and Offset’s 2-year-old daughter Kulture, coupled with child support payments.

According to reports, the rapper was unaware that the lawyer presented her case in that manner and thus, she instructed her legal team to change her paperwork and make the process more “amicable”.

According to insiders, Cardi wants joint custody of Kulture with a positive “co-parenting situation” and doesn’t wish to seek financial support from Offset.

Offset hasn’t responded to the divorce petition yet.

This separation comes after the couple briefly split in 2018 and sparked rumors related to reconciliation the same year in December. These rumors were confirmed when they attended the 2019 Grammy Awards together.

During that point, the “I Like It” rapper accused the Migos star of being unfaithful. However, it is believed that they wanted to work things out for the sake of their daughter.

Offset engaged in several public gestures to win Cardi back, such as crashing her set at Rolling Loud festival in LA with a huge “Take Me Back Cardi” sign made out of white and red roses.

Though she denied his apology, he believed that it was the right thing to do.

He tweeted at the time: “All of my wrongs have been made public, i figure it’s only right that my apologies are made public too. A ***** was just trying …..thank god I ain’t got no balloons sheeesh “

Blige, and more. Now, the star released a new visual from the project “Said What I Said,” featuring assistance from Doe Boy, and both of them can be seen being gangsta in this cut produced by V Don and Motif Alumni:

“I’ll never hide from a threat, I’m smiling at cameras, an opp died, got us dancing, top down when we landing, forgot my name, call me handsome/

No more Xans, I was scrambling, pocket full of bunch of dead men, you ain’t f***in’, give me head then, I see demons, I hop out the bed, could’ve leased it, I copped it instead…/”

In this video, both the collaborators can be seen on a rooftop as they sang their songs and kept everything quite simple. The backdrop included some cool graffiti and a city skyline.

Before Karma 3, Dave East released his official debut LP Survival, featuring 20 cuts and assists from artists such as Nas, DJ Premier, Teyana Taylor, Lil Baby, Mozzy, Gunna, and Jacquees.

“Whatever you put out into the universe, I feel like that s*** gonna come back. We all do our dirt, but I try to consciously put good out hoping that s*** comes back to me ‘cause I got friends that ain’t here no more or they’re doing 100 years. They put bad into the universe. I watched ‘em do it, I might’ve did it with ‘em, but that’s all they did and the karma of that, it never comes back good.”

Stefflon Don releases new music video “Move”

Stefflon Don’s first single of the year has been released. The song is called “Move” and a feisty video has been released to align with the song. The song has been produced by Troyton and is “inspired by the old me, the Steff that the world was first introduced to,” the rapper wrote in a press release.

It is reported that Stefflon has been contributing behind the scenes too. Previously, she first enjoyed credits for songwriting for “Ego Death” by Ty Dolla $ign featuring Kanye West, FKA Twigs, and Skrillex, which was released in July.

In 2018, Stefflon released her most recent full-length project Secure, while she continued to release many other hits. In the year 2019, she collaborated with fellow Quality Control label-mate Lil Baby for their song “Phone Down.” In the same year, she was also seen alongside Idris Elba and Sean Paul, on Wiley’s hit track “Boasty.”

Even when Stefflon is not singing, she ensures that she is heard. Just last year, she spoke at the REVOLT Summit on the “The Global Influence of Hip Hop” panel, which was hosted by Ebro Darden.

Recently, she was bestowed with Female Artist of the Year award at the fifth annual Rated awards in London
