It was back in February that Fredo announced that the sequel to his 2018 mixtape Tables Turn would be released. As he released “Everybody Knows” last Thursday (June 8), the rapper gave fans a taste of what the record might have in store for them. It is a turn-of-the-century hip-hop track with retro production produced by Roddy Beatz and Young Chencs reminiscent of the turn of the century in hip-hop. It is clear that the West London emcee hasn’t forgotten his street roots on the infectious cut, on which he recounts his gritty street life and hard-earned wealth as he raps about his past on the street.
Fredo gives us a glimpse of his entrepreneurial skills in the video for his song “Everybody Knows,” directed by Suave, as he shares his experiences as the part owner of the sneaker retailer Kick Game, that has expanded its operation into many different cities throughout the United Kingdom since it was established in 2013. Through the course of the video, the independent rapper guides viewers through his product warehouse, takes them along to business meetings with his peers, and shows off the fleet of cars that he keeps on hand for his leisure.
On the 28th of August of 2021, Fredo released his third studio LP under the name Independence Day, the first album he released since leaving RCA Records. During the creation of this project, fourteen tracks were recorded and additional features were provided by Clavish, Potter Payper, Headie One, and Sus. Throughout this period of time, Fredo has continued to keep his momentum going by releasing well-received songs, such as “Dave Flow” and “I’m Back.” In addition, he has also been able to provide his unique style of bars to Clavish “Monday To Sunday” and Dave “In The Fire.”
