Future recently had the most successful year of his career, as evidenced by his accolades. It was announced yesterday (December 13) that the RIAA had given a slew of awards and certifications to the Atlanta music superstar. One of only four albums in the year 2022 to reach Platinum status was his latest studio album, I NEVER LIKED YOU. This became only one of four albums to achieve platinum status that year. Among its most popular singles, “WAIT FOR U” produced by Drake and Tems was certified triple platinum by the RIAA and received the Top Certified Single of the Year award. Lastly, “PUFFIN ON ZOOTIEZ” achieved platinum status, capping off a successful year for the artist.
The Freebandz president Future released I NEVER LIKED YOU back in April. It originally featured 16 tracks and guest appearances from Kanye West, Young Thug, Drake, Gunna, Tems, EST Gee, and Kodak Black. In a subsequent release, he released the extended edition, which included six additional songs by 42 Dugg, Babyface Ray, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and Young Scooter.
According to a recent announcement by the rapper behind “sMarch Madness,” he will be hitting the road in early 2023 in support of his “One Big Party Tour.” The tour is set to begin on Jan. 7 in Houston, and will conclude on Jan. 27 in Boston, before heading to all the cities in between. It was also confirmed that he will be joined throughout the journey by a number of peers. These include such names as Kodak Black, Trippie Redd, EST Gee, Doe Boy, Babyface Ray, Polo G, Lil Jairmy, Rob49, Double 00, and Ocean x Kungfu.
According to Future in his recent interview with Billboard, he said he no longer had to worry about any competition. This is because he has been able to find his own path and become successful. I don’t think anyone needs to be like me… just the way I am. As a matter of fact, I am capable of doing this,” he said. “You know, the only person around who can do this crap is me, right? Do you understand what I’m saying? Musically, that’s my personal life. In truth, I am the only one of none. This is a way of life I can live. As a result, people accept it because it’s just me.”
