CurrenSy assists Hit-Boy in the new song “Tony Fontana III.”

Hit-Boy has released a handful of well-received singles this year, including “Corsa” by Dom Kennedy, “Scholar” with Devin Morrison and 24Hrs, and “Fireproof,” which premiered exclusively earlier this summer. This past weekend, the Pasadena-born producer and artist released his latest single, “Tony Fontana III.” Curren$y contributed an assist and the song was produced by EightSix Productions.

In addition to releasing the single, the Grammy award-winning hitmaker shared a photo on Instagram indicating that there will be a full joint album between him and CurrenSy. “Not [gon’] lie. It may just be that Spitta and Hit-Boy’s upcoming album can save the universe,” read the tweet that accompanied his post.

As a result of his busy schedule behind the boards this year, Hit-Boy has collaborated on several projects, including Bulletproof Soul featuring Pacman Da Gunman and HITGIRL alongside Dreezy. Moreover, he produced “Thique” on Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE album, which he later revealed that he had been keeping for nearly eight years. Together with Nas, he released the Magic album in 2021, and also teamed up with Big Sean to release the What You Expect EP the following year.

The producer of “Feeling Myself” recently discussed why he is more determined than ever before to personalize his work. “It has been common for people to play my music at events and in clubs, and they seem to love it, so I would like to implement my own unique version of performing the music that I have created, rather than just observing it from the outside,” he said. “For my compositions, as well as my performances, I would like to keep the music organic and natural in nature since I am discussing things that are happening in my life, from my son to my family.”

‘Crip Ya Enthusiasm’ video drops from Snoop Dogg.

This project included 18 tracks and contributions from artists such as Nas, Wiz Khalifa, T.I., Nate Dogg, DaBaby, The Game, Uncle Murda, and others. As an accompanying video for the song, “Crip Your Enthusiasm,” it was directed by Jesse Wellens and James Defina in which an older, animated version of Snoop is seen going about his daily routine. Watchers can see him enjoying a cigarette at a pool party, getting into a car accident with a police officer, and hanging out with Tupac Shakur throughout the four-minute video.

The rapper revealed a new album is in the works between Snoop and Dr. Dre, as he announced to Stephen A. Smith:

“In the past two months, Dr. Dre and I have been working on an album together. The project will be completed by November. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary at Doggystyle, and it is produced by Dr. Dre. The name of the project is Missionary.”
