It was announced last Friday (Feb. 17) that Jay Critch would release his 19-track Jugg Season album, which will feature guest vocals from Baby Money, Rich The Kid, and Max B. As our readers know by now, Brooklyn emcee XXXX continued his momentum yesterday (Feb. 21), with the official music video for his latest single “Handle.” In the new music video directed by Dee Sauce, the movie follows the 24-year-old rapper through a day in his busy life, including front row seats to two New York Fashion Week shows, as well as hanging out with some friends of his. As he flows around the track, he shows off his trademark calm and collected manner:

It has been a while since the “Dreams In A Wraith” rapper Jay Critch has released an album, his last effort being Critch Tape, a 23-track project from 2021 that worked with the likes of Lil Tjay, Fivio Foreign and Drakeo The Ruler. He has been offering customers a steady stream of loose appearances over the past few years. This has included the release of “Gifted” as well as a collaboration with Harry Fraud on “Born With It.” and “Deadline,” “Spin No Blocks,” “Stamped,” “Click It,” in collaboration with Prince Swanny

Besides his own releases, you’ll also hear Jay Critch on a number of tracks that aren’t his own, such as “Where’s Dexter” produced by Famous Dex and Rich The Kid, “Identify Yourself” featuring Ralfy The Plug and Drakeo The Ruler, “Rose Gold” composed with Yung Lano, and a long-awaited reunion between Rich Forever Music and himself.

On Friday, February 17th, Jay Critch, who is known for his rap songs, will release his new album Jugg Season via Empire Records. In the last couple of weeks, it’s been evident that the New York emcee has been steadily preparing fans for the release of the project with cuts like “Spooky,” “Cheating (Freestyle),” and “Up All Night.” In the last couple of hours, the emcee shared one last preview of the project before it drops in full on Feb. 28, titled “Oh What A Feeling.” Critch delivers his trademark smooth flows over production from JULiA LEWiS and Thank You Fizzle.

The “Dreams In A Wraith” rapper’s Jay Critch most recent release was 2021’s Critch Tape. It included contributions from artists such as Lil Tjay, Fivio Foreign and Drakeo The Ruler. With plenty of loose releases since then, he has continually kept fans happy, including “Spin No Blocks,” “Stamped,” “Deadline,” “Click It” featuring Prince Swanny, “Gifted” and the collaborative effort with Harry Fraud titled “Born With It.”

As well as his own releases, Jay Critch has been featured on numerous other tracks, including “Identify Yourself” featuring Ralfy The Plug and Drakeo The Ruler, and “Where’s Dexter” with Famous Dex and Rich The Kid, “Rose Gold” featuring Yung Lano, and “The One” featuring Spalos, the last of which was a long-awaited reunion with the Rich Forever Music crew.

The New York-based rapper Lil Tjay kept his fans engaged with a plethora of loose tracks during the past year, including “Faceshot,” “Give You What You Want,” “Beat the Odds,” and “Eastside (Remix)” “In My Head,” “Goin Up,” produced by North Ave Jax, this weekend, he returned to the scene with his latest track, “Clutchin My Strap.” The composition of Lil Tjay’s piece is based on samples of the album “Power” by Glockex that are used to discuss overcoming obstacles in life:

It is the accompanying visual that arrives courtesy of JL Shot That and it starts off with the scene where you see the cops and the artist interact with each other. Aside from Lil Tjay performance, fans can see clips of him performing in a packed crowd, as well as recordings he made in his home studio. 

He has released only one full-length album since his 2021 sophomore effort Destined 2 Win, a collection of 21 tracks featuring contributions from Polo G, 6LACK, Moneybagg Yo, Tyga, Saweetie, as well as others. In the first week of release, destined 2 Win reached the top five on the Billboard 200 chart with 62,000 equivalent album units sold. 

Besides his own music, Lil Tjay has been featured on a number of other recent collaborations, including, “World Watching” featuring Fivio Foreign, “Hot Winter Freestyle” with Gucci Mane, “The Jackie” by Bas featuring J. Coleand “Gangsta Boo” featuring Ice Spice.

There has been no shortage of tracks released by Jay Critch in 2022, as the rapper has been consistently serving fans with a steady stream of loose favorites, including “Sade,” “Close To Me / Active,” “Anyday,” “Lefty,” “At My Worst” that features Rich The Kid, as well as the most recent, “Up All Night.” On the weekend, Jay Critch added to his growing list with the release of his latest drop, “Cheating (Freestyle).” Over a bass-driven instrumental, he raps about staying real, no matter what:

Jay Critch revealed in a recent interview that he is a man of many words. However, he is one of the most valuable and reliable people to get advice from, regardless of where they come from in their career. “When it comes to Fab, I consider him my big brother,” he explained. “I will follow Fab and French Montana’s example when I become an OG in the game. They both get along well with young artists. They show love to young artists and they’re always there to be a big brother in this. The moment I met Fab, he showed me love, and I always appreciated that. Basically, what I have learned from them has been how to move in and out of s**t.”

Jaylen Smith graduated high school in May 2022, and he’s now employed. At only 18 years old, his new job will be to serve as the mayor of his hometown, Earle, Arkansas, making him the youngest Black mayor in America. Jaylen Smith has already made history as the youngest person ever elected to public office in Earle, Arkansas. He’s determined to use his new platform to improve the lives of everyone in his town.

Mayor Smith will be responsible for leading his community and making decisions that will impact the lives of its residents. He’ll have to hit the ground running and learn quickly, but he has the support of his community behind him. Serving as mayor is a big responsibility, but Smith is up for the challenge. “I’m just excited to get started and to show everyone what we can do,” he says.

In Earle, Jaylen Smith will be responsible for overseeing the city’s budget, working with the city council to pass laws and ordinances, and representing the city at public events. Smith’s election is a historic moment not only for Arkansas, but for the entire country. His election proves that young people can make a difference in their communities, and that they have the power to create change.

So far, Smith has been well-received by his constituents, who say they’re excited to see what he can do for their town. “He’s exactly what this town needs right now,” one resident said. “I think he’s going to do great things for us.” We wish Mayor Smith all the best as he begins this new chapter in his life.
