Russ uploaded a TikTok last week in which he experimented with elements of soft rock. Due to the overwhelming response to the video, he decided to polish up the track and release it in its entirety today (May 5). In addition to being titled “Fire,” this new offering also comes with an announcement that Chomp 2.5 is in the works. During the newly released song, Russ describes the struggle he is going through with his loved one and how he wants things to work out:
The “Best On Earth” artist recently unveiled the most recent body of work he had created, titled If Not Now, When? The project, which was made as a follow-up to 2021 Chomp 2, which itself is a sequel to the EP by the same name that was released in 2020. As part of the Chomp 2 release, numerous impressive features were included from the likes of Ransom, Westside Gunn, Papoose, Styles P, Big Sean, Big K.R.I.T., Joey Bada$$, and plenty others.
There are 14 songs in the first Chomp, including collaborations and collaborations between Jadakiss, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Styles P, Wale, Hit-Boy, Jay Electronica, and more. Several charting hits have been released since then, including “Ugly” with Lil Baby and “Take You Back” with Kehlani, which are two of the most popular songs in his career to date. It is worth noting that Russ is featured on several other tracks in addition to his own releases, including “Reason” featuring Asake, “Distante de Tudo” featuring Orochi, and more.
