Judge in Virginia refuses to try Black man in a courtroom that has white portraits

A judge in Virginia stated that a Black person’s right to free trial will seem superficial if they are tried in a courtroom that has portraits only of white judges. Earlier this week, an opinion letter was written by Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge David Bernhard, wherein he discussed the trial of Terrance Shipp Jr.
