As of next Friday (Jan. 13), Vedo is gearing up to release his new album, Mood Swings. In addition to the 13 tracks that will be included in the project, Tink and Chris Brown will also make guest appearances. With regards to the “FOREVER” track, Vedo released his first preview of the song last month. On Monday (Jan. 6), he continued his streak of hits with a sensual Breezy-assisted track titled “Do You Mind.” The Michigan native delivered his opening verse in the song which focused on setting the right tone for the night with his words:
Vedo the singer of “You Got It” previously released a project with OG Parker called While You Wait last year, which was the first time that he and the rapper put their talents together. A total of eight tracks were featured on the mixtape, including two appearances by Dusty Locane and Baby Tate. The highlight of his 2022 career was when he accompanied Eric Bellinger as one of Usher’s backup singers when he performed his viral performance for “NPR Tiny Desk,” which was viral worldwide.
It was over a year ago that Brown released his latest LP, Breezy, the 10th album of his career that came out back in June of 2022. With a total of 24 songs, the album features production assistance from Blxst, Bryson Tiller, Ella Mai, EST Gee, Fivio Foreign, H.E.R., Jack Harlow, Lil Wayne, and more. The first week of the release of Breezy, it debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, with 72,000 units sold in the first week of its release. Following that, he came back to announce the official Deluxe upgrade, which boasted nine additional cuts, as well as new collaborations between him and Davido and Anderson. Paak.
In the year of 2017, Diddy and Rick Ross teamed up with each other to release a joint single titled “Whatcha Gon’ Do?” the track, which was originally released across two different formats on OVO Sound Radio, also featured The Notorious B.I.G.’s verse from the LOX-assisted track “You’ll See.” As part of this release, a version was dedicated to Dr. Dre as well as Snoop Dogg “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” by taking from Leon Haywood’s “I Want’a Do Something Freaky to You.”
In October of this year, Diddy released a revised version of the “Whatcha Gon’ Do?” video based on his verse from that very version, which was accompanied by an appearance by Yung Miami. In addition to the previous clip, the billionaire mogul did not stop partying yesterday, as he released another video featuring Rozay for a lyrical contribution:
The short film includes a short video where viewers are transported to South Florida in an old-school droptop and Diddy is seen riding around in it at two o’clock in the morning in a vehicle from the eighties, riding on the streets at two o’clock in the morning in an old-school droptop. The two of them will make their way to the liquor store to pick up some adult beverages before making their way down a flight of stairs where they will meet his Maybach Music counterpart.
Earlier this month, Diddy dropped his latest song, “Gotta Move On,” a playful collaboration with Bryson Tiller that quickly became a fan favorite. It was recorded by the Bad Boy icon and produced by producers such as Teddy Walton, Roark Bailey, J-Louis, RNSOM, and Slimwav, and turned into a chart-topping single which later on to become an EP of the same name which included remixes from Fabolous, Ashanti, Cool & Dre, and more.
It was last week that NAV released his fourth studio LP Demons Protected by Angels. This album features performances from Lil Uzi Vert, Babyface Ray, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Bryson Tiller, and more. Soon thereafter (Sept. 10), the Canadian artist dropped a new visual for “Lost Me,” in which he collaborated with RealestK on a song about a love interest that proved disloyal:
A black-and-white clip accompanying the music video for the NAV, 254Bodi, Money Musik, and HONEYWOODSIX-produced track portrays a single room in an artsy manner. NAV sits on a throne with an amount of money, and RealestK makes his appearance flanked by mannequins wearing sunglasses.
In the first week of the album’s release, Hits Daily Double estimates that Demons Protected by Angels will sell 50,000 to 55,000 equivalent album units. The number of units sold for Emergency Tsunami, released in 2020, would be higher if the figures are accurate. Emergency Tsunami debuted on the Billboard 200 at number six thanks to the sale of 42,000 units. As with Demons Protected by Angels, Emergency Tsunami showcased a variety of star power, featuring Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Baby, SahBabii, Future, and the late Lil Keed.
In the past week, G Perico dropped his latest project, 111th East. The album contains six dope tracks for fans to enjoy. In advance of releasing the project, South Central star Perico released a visual for “Confessions,” a TRUNX-produced track that explores Perico’s past misdeeds:
Additionally, G Perico has released a clip from 111th East for Mike D Exclusive and TRUNX-produced “Legitimate”. I was reminded of K.P & Envyi’s 1998 hit “Swing My Way” when I listened to this song. It’s reminiscent of the 1998 hit which J Cole & Bryson Tiller sampled during their respective tracks “Deja Vu” and “Exchange,” and respectively.”Legitimate” also depicts Perico’s days as a struggling entrepreneur:
The six-song 111th East follows Tango, the eight-song joint effort with Gotdamnitdupri that dropped in February. With previous releases in 2021, such as Free, G Perico kept his fans well fed No Love In LA, Lover Boy Slim, Welcome To The Land, LA Summers, and Play 2 Win.
Rayven Justice raised his game even higher with the release of his EP titled Many Moons a few months back; the EP is composed of eight tracks with a wide range of musical influences and features guests like Sage the Gemini and K-Major. With a new track out this week, Oakland singer-songwriter daft has returned with his follow-up, “Daddy”. The new record, featuring Traxamillion production, finds Rayven chasing down a certain someone who has come his way:
The EP he released last year, entitled Late Nights Early Mornings, included some narrated thoughts by Rayven Justice. Bizzy Crook, Drenesse, and Trinidad James were included on the eight-track project. As Rayven dropped off R&Bay Volumes 1 and 2 in May and September of that year, he had a busy year overall for that year. Both compilations benefited from the assistance of Yhung T.O, Lil B, Ally Cocaine, Young Bari, Rico Tha Kidd, and plenty more.
While doing this, he also collaborated with a number of peers on songs, such as “Mob Ties” featuring “From This Point On” by Drenesse, “Where You At?” with Baeza and Selo, ALLBLACK anBully Wiz, and “Just Right” with Bryson Tiller. Additionally, he proudly repped Oakland when he was cast in E-40 and Too $hort and Ain’t Gone Do It/Terms and Conditions project.
