The Bronx hip hop scene emerged in the mid-1970s from neighborhood block parties thrown by the Black Spades, an African-American group described as being a gang, a club, and a music group. Brother-sister duo Clive Campbell, a.k.a. DJ Kool Herc and Cindy Campbell additionally hosted DJ parties in the Bronx and are credited for the rise in the genre.
The 90’s brought us some of the most prolific rappers and MCs in history. From Biggie, Tupac Shakur, Busta Rhymes, NAS, Jay Z, Missy Elliot, Outkast, and more were birth in this generation.
Hip-Hop has always projected a larger than life image and opulence at the highest level. Fast cars, exotic women, decadent jewelry, luxury yachts, and jumbo cocktail shrimp are views of Hip-Hop artists’ success.
