It is expected that Tink will have a very busy year in 2023. She released her latest sensual track and video, “Toxic,” over the weekend. A soundtrack from the musical Chicago was used to inspire the video directed by Josh Jones. As she delivers her lyrics about a destructive relationship, the 27-year-old star refers to the infamous “Cell Block Tango” scene as she delivers her opening line:
“I listen to [‘Toxic’] every day because it puts me in that mindset,” Tink said in a press release. “My favorite thing to do is see the girls pop their asses, and this sets the tone for the year. The video was created as a result of the patterns we all see in relationships of different kinds, those unhealthy cycles.”
Earlier this year, the Illinois-born artist released his Pillow Talk album, a 16-song project that included guest performances from Russ, Toosii, Layton Greene, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Muni Long, and G Herbo. Prior to the release of the album, singles such as “Cater” and “Goofy” featuring 2 Chainz were well received. In addition to her own releases, Tink has also worked with Vedo and Babyface in collaborations such as “Whatever” with Babyface and “Somebody” featuring Vedo.

It’s been a couple of days since BlocBoy JB tipped off his new song titled “MURSIC,” which is obviously a nod to the rapper’s deep Memphis accent, which frequently appears on his tracks. The Karey Muney-produced record is full of hard-hitting rhymes that take aim at BlocBoy JB’s high-end lifestyle and his street connections:
“The video for “MURSIC” comes in the form of a matching visual produced by Spizzberg and Faceoff Visuals as part of a matching project. There is a scene in the clip where he appears with his crew at a desert location, where they have a brightly colored Corvette and a couple of four-wheelers with them. This video features clips from old western movies woven throughout, echoing Muney’s nostalgic production in which old Western films are interspersed with footage from modern films.
He now appears to be aligned with Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group. BlocBoy JB first made his mark in the music industry with Drake’s collaboration “Look Alive” in 2018. As he previously mentioned in a past interview, he has high expectations for how the song will be perceived post-release:
“After it was released for the first time, they asked me, ‘How many views do you think it’s going to get in a day?’ I answered, ‘Uh, 100,000.’ That thing blew up like crazy. While I know it’s a banger, it’s not always the case that you get the most out of things the first time around. Whenever it happens, you think to yourself, “Damn, this really happened.” The problem with my mind is that it always takes me to places I have no expectations.”
Also talking about his experience in collaborating with 21 Savage for a hit record called “Rover 2.0,” he shared some of his thoughts about the experience:
As I wrote Rover, I was sitting in the back of a truck when I first started writing it. It is not a Rover, but an Explorer… I am confident that this is an extremely difficult song. In other words, if I am unable to stop listening to a song, then I have discovered something, since I am quick to move on to the next song.”

In February 2021, Eric Bellinger and Hitmaka collaborated together for their joint project 1-800-Hit-Eazy, which was a 14-track album of original material that featured features from Chrishan, Rahky, and a number of other artists. It has been a pleasure to experience the accompanying visuals for plenty of tracks from the album since it was released, including tracks such as “Hypebeast,” “Star Projectors,” “Serious,” and “Only You.”
The two recently announced that as the two-year anniversary of the release of their LP approaches, a sequel is finally on its way. With the single “BNB” released last month, fans have already sampled 1-800-Hit-Eazy: Line 2’s sound. The album lands on Feb. 10. It has been announced that a new song from this duo, “Decide,” is out. Co-produced by Keyz and Hitmaka, the song is about offering an ultimatum to your partner: “You have to decide.”
It must be noted that Eric Bellinger released his last full-length solo album in the year 2021, a well-received offering that included guest appearances from Teedra Moses, Kierra Sheard, Dom Kennedy, Brandy, The Game, and Sevyn Streeter. In the months that followed, he earned a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Progressive R&B Album for that project which later on earned him a Grammy. Additionally, he made his television debut in 2021 with an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
It was explained by the singer Eric Bellinger in a recent interview that it was quite a transition to move from being a songwriter to being a solo artist. This is after spending most of her career as a songwriter. “When it comes to those people who are used to you as a songwriter, the first thing they say is, ‘Man, I’m sure Chris Brown would make that sound crazy if he made it’. It would be amazing if Usher was to cut it, wouldn’t it? ” He asked. “In the same way that you had to work your way up to the top to become a songwriter, you have to stay resilient.”
