Tyra Myricks and T’yanna Wallace add to their growing business empire

Tyra Myricks and T’yanna Wallace add to their growing business empire

Tyra Myricks and T’yanna Wallace’s Juicy Pizza is opening on Saturday (June 12).

Los Angeles-based pizzeria featuring New York-style pizza has been opened by daughters of hip hop legends. According to Eater, Tyra Myricks and T’yanna Wallace will start a pizza company named Juicy Pizza after Biggie’s 1994 hit single.

According to reports, Tyra Myricks was inspired to open the pizza joint after she realized that “Los Angeles was lacking good pizza.” I decided to make my own NY-style pizza rather than go on an endless search for it! Back in February, she wrote a post on Instagram.

Her old friend T’yanna Wallace, who’s from New York, helped her bring a bit of the East Coast to the West Coast. ‘Who better to represent New York than Biggie Smalls?’ I thought as I thought about how to bring that theme to Los Angeles “According to the Business Insider interview, Myricks explained. In addition to making money together, Tyra Myricks and T’yanna Wallace believed that their new venture would bring a lot of advantages to them.

The restaurant serves New York-style pizza, beef and broccoli, as well as egg rolls made with chopped cheese. The restaurant is also reportedly featuring subway car details and bodega vibes, according to The Eater.

Originally scheduled to open on Saturday (June 12), Juicy Pizza will first operate in the evening hours. It will also offer merchandise created by Tyra Myricks as well as an African-owned cannabis lounge for members.

In addition to building Juicy Pizza, T’yanna Wallace and Myricks will now start a new business. Myricks owns her own clothing line, Wealth, and Wallace owns Notoriouss, a clothing store named after her late father.

Rick Ross enters into cryptocurrency and NFT market

Rick Ross enters into cryptocurrency and NFT market

THE WORLD’S FIRST-EVER NFT AUCTION OF AUTOMOTIVE ART WILL BE HELD BY RICK ROSS IN CRYPTOCURRENCY

With the release of his history-making debut, Rick Ross is the latest hip-hop star to make a splash in the cryptocurrency market.

In a report from Forbes, the music mogul and producer duo Cool & Dre teamed up with Porsche 911 art car designer Rich B. Caliente to create an NFT.

As Rick Ross wrote in an email, “Painting with the can as art is both a way to express the culture and to do something new and creative.”

In sum, Caliente stated, “We had a lot of synergy and energy while doing this project.” A tangible asset is created when all of our relationships and passions are brought together.

Slashdot, a management consulting firm affiliated with the NFT, helped launch the Bitcoin collaboration. In contrast to most NFTs, the Porsche auction also included ownership of the art and the purchase of the car.

Forbes reports that Producer Dre from Cool & Dre said that NFTs will prosper in the music space. Being able to keep our creations is satisfying and exciting.

Based upon the Metaverse and 3D animation the Porsche 911 NFT was built upon, Slashdot co-founder Brad Flaherty described the Porsche 911 NFT as a virtual reality creation that will “come to life inside of a digital world.”

A portion of the proceeds from the NFT auction, reported by Reuters last Friday (June 4), went to the South Florida-based Irie  Foundation. Up until June 14, blockchain cryptocurrency, Ethereum, will be accepted as payment for the NFT.

With the market getting bigger and bigger, music-cryptocolumbia collaborations represent a huge opportunity. In addition to the NFT space, hip-hop artists such as Waka Flocka have also gotten involved as a way to return money and ownership back to creatives.

Among the musicians who have entered cryptocurrency and NFT are Lil Yachty, Akon, Quincy Jones, and many others.

Freddie Figgers defies incalculable odds at birth and becomes a giant in technology

Freddie Figgers defies incalculable odds at birth and becomes a giant in technology

FORMERLY THROWN AWAY AT A DUMPSTER, FREDDIE FIGGERS BECAME A MILLIONAIRE TECH ENTREPRENEUR DESPITE ALL ODDS

It doesn’t have to be your circumstances that define you.

Freddie Figgers found out when he was eight that his biological mother abandoned him near a dumpster shortly after he was born, according to BBC News.

“Listen, Fred, I’m going to tell you the truth. I adopted you out of foster care because I didn’t wish to send you through foster care.” Freddie recalls his father telling him, “You are my son.” Your biological mother threw you away, and you and Betty Mae adopted you out of foster care.

He describes the thoughts that went through his mind after finding out that his adopted parents found him near a dumpster.

He told me that and I felt unwanted and that made me feel trash.” said  Freddie. I remember he grabbed my shoulder and said, “Listen, don’t ever let that bother you.'”

Although Freddie continued to be plagued by the circumstances surrounding his adoption throughout his youth, he persevered.

I was called a lot of names when I was younger, including ‘dumpster baby,’ ‘trash can boy,’ ‘who wants you,’ and ‘you’re dirty.'” said Freddie.

In 1989, Nathan and Betty Mae were living in Quincy, a rural community in North Florida, when Freddie was born.

After fostering many children, they chose to adopt Freddie when he was just two days old.

It was always my father’s intention to help others, stopping by the roadside to help strangers and feeding the homeless, he said. The reason I wanted to be like him was because he adopted and raised me.”

In the meantime, Freddie and Nathan would do “dumpster diving” on the weekends, looking for old things that could still be useful.

Freddie wanted a computer.

“I was always fascinated by computers, and there is an old saying that ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. During that time, gateway computers weren’t in our budget.”

At the age of nine, Freddie found a broken Mac while browsing in a Goodwill store with his father. The rest is history.

“When I got home and the computer wouldn’t turn on, I took it apart,” said  Freddie.

His determination would not let up until he was able to get the computer up again.

“When I inspected it, I found some damaged capacitors. Using parts I had from my father’s radio alarm clock, I built a circuit board.” I used my father’s soldering gun and I also had radios and alarm clocks.

A few attempts later, the computer powered on, and Freddie was convinced that technology was what he wanted to do the rest of his life.

In today’s world, Freddie Figgers is a millionaire inventor of inventions that include a GPS tracker, designed as a result of the Alzheimer’s disease his father, Natham, suffered from.

Within a month of selling the tracker rights, he lost his father.

Freddie continues to break into the tech industry, and he is married to attorney Natlie Figgers. Instilling this advice into their daughter is something he says he will do together as a couple.

The world may seem cold, but you must never give up.

The trajectory of Freddie Figgers’ life could’ve been very different if he’d given up.

He also offers this piece of advice for others: “Don’t allow your circumstances to define you.”

Vanessa Bryant asks eBay to remove Nike’s Mambacita shoes

Vanessa Bryant asks eBay to remove Nike’s Mambacita shoes

It was reported on eBay that a pair of unauthorized Kobe 6 Protro sneakers called “Mambacita” was being sold for almost $7,000.

In a tweet released Friday (June 4), eBay Sneakers wrote: “Thanks for your concern.” There is no longer an entry on this company’s website. According to Complex, the sneakers have also been removed from GOAT and Flight Club, while StockX still has them listed for sale.

In response to reports that someone had purchased shoes Bryant designed in memory of her late husband and daughter, Vanessa Bryant took to social media on Wednesday (June 2).

My daughter Gianna inspired me to work on this shoe,” Vanessa Bryant wrote. As an exclusive colorway of her daddy’s shoes, it was to be called MAMBACITA. The colors I chose were inspired by her uniform, the number 2 she wore like Gigi Smith’s, the inside pattern, Kobe’s signature instead of Gigi’s, and the details of the shoe (butterfly, wings, halo).”

Furthermore, she wondered how someone had been able to purchase the “Mambacita” shoes before her and her daughters received them.

There is no approval for the sale of MAMBACITA shoes. As much as I wanted the shoes to be sold to honor my daughter, ALL the proceeds would go to a foundation I support called @mambamambacitasports, but I did not extend the Nike contract.” In the first place, MAMBACITA shoes were not authorized to be made. I nor my girls have received these pairs from Nike.”

As of April, Vanessa Bryant rejected the sneaker company’s renewal offer for her husband. Her estate and the estate of her late husband were “frustrated” by Nike’s decision to limit the availability of his products after his death and when he retired.  MAMBACITA is a trademark and global brand managed by Vanessa Bryant.

Meek Mill wants New York to pass the Less is More Act, which would reform parole

Meek Mill wants New York to pass the Less is More Act, which would reform parole

More people are imprisoned in New York for technical parole violations than anywhere else.

In addition to the criminal justice system, Meek Mill emphasizes other social issues. The embattled rapper is passionate about making changes to outdated legal policies and discriminatory practices.

It was Saturday (June 5) when Meek published a tweet advocating the passage of a bill that would eliminate incarceration for most technical parole violations.

Legislators in New York State must pass the Less is More Act before they can leave town next week. In NYS, we need meaningful reforms now!  The tweet was sent by Meek.

LessisMoreNY.org, a website dedicated to the bill, says there are about 35,000 people under active parole supervision in New York who could be incarcerated again at any time if they reoffend on a technical violation. “Not only does this result in harm to individuals and families without corresponding improvements to public safety, but it also drives up the population in state and local prisons, wasting taxpayer money.”

As a state, New York is home to the most inmates imprisoned for technical  parole violations. The site lists a number of offenses, from failing to appear for a parole officer’s appointment to arriving late for curfew or testing positive for alcohol or another drug.

According to the current bill, incarceration would be limited for technical offenses if it is adopted into law. Additionally, it would enhance due process, provide speedy hearings, and provide credit for earned time under community  supervision.

There are over 275 community and advocacy groups across New York as well as democratic members of congress that support the Less is More bill, which technically is titled Senate Bill S1144. Senator Brian A. Benjamin is the sponsor of the bill.

Meek is co-chair of Reform Alliance, a nonprofit that works toward creating safe communities by drastically reducing the number of people trapped in the criminal justice system. The group has had legislative success in California, Louisiana, and Michigan, so hopefully they will be able to add New York to the list soon.
