New album from NLE Choppa, Cottonwood 2

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Nigerian rap artist NLE Choppa has officially released his second album, Cottonwood 2, a follow up to his debut album, Cottonwood, which was released back in 2018. Among the 22 tracks featured on the project were early previews of songs such as “Ain’t Gonna Answer,” and “S**t Me Out, “Champions,” along with the collaboration of Lil Wayne, who jumped on board to contribute to the project with his own verse. Throughout the track, the Memphis emcee channels his inner Weezy energy by referencing one of the most famous hooks of all time, the “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy” hook:

The emcee NLE Choppa has previously released music under the name Me vs. Me back in 2022, a 16-song album boasting collaborations from the likes of G Herbo, Polo G, Young Thug, and Moneybagg Yo. His visuals from the recording have been released since then for cuts from the album that include “Trap Phone,” “Stompin,” and “Lick Me Baby.” The project serves as a follow-up to his 2012 mixtape From Dark to Light as well as his 2015 full-length release Top Shotta, which he released in December.

It can be heard that the 20-year-old rapper NLE Choppa is not only releasing his own music, but he is also featured on a number of recent tracks, including “Krucial” Perry III, “9 Lives” by DDG, “Switches” featuring Clay, “FAITHFUL” featuring Macklemore, “Ostre Pestki” featuring Malik Montana and more. Also in February, the musician participated in the Grammy Museum’s Grammy In The Schools festival with a panel discussion and performance.

The Floridian star Kodak Black revealed a new song over the weekend (April 14), titled “No Love For A Thug.” Created by Lbeats, the track features the Floridian singer singing about his family, street life, and internal battles over the course of the track.

There was some buzz in October of 2022 when Kodak Black released his latest album, Kutthroat Bill: Vol. 1, which was part of the news. A 19-song album containing contributions from a number of artists VVSNCE, Lil Crix, NFL Tuewop, and Prince Swanny. Throughout his career, he has been involved in many songs that have featured his rhymes, including Internet Money “I Remember,” Anuel AA “Sufro,” A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie “Water (Drowning, Pt. 2),” Doodie Lo “ISTG, PT. 2,” Diplo’s “Wasted,” Doechii “What It Is (Block Boy),” Trippie Redd “COLORS,” and Gucci Mane “King Snipe.”

It was previously announced that the star of “No Flockin” Kodak Black is now enrolled in Arizona State University.

“I have always considered Arizona to be one of my home states. “I am currently enrolled at ASU after receiving my GED in jail,” he stated. “In addition, I simply enjoy applying myself, despite the fact that my money has been with me for so long, I can help the school learn something.”

Latto Coachella performance was well received by fans and now she is back with a slew of new songs for her fans to enjoy. She has a brand new single, “Put It On Da Floor“, which is a collaborative effort made up of Squat Beatz, Go Grizzly, and Pooh Beatz. In it, she shows off her wealth and sends stern messages to those who criticize her.

I previously reported that Latto also collaborated with one of her peers, hip hop artist TiaCorine, for an acoustic version of the viral hit “FreakyT” just recently. “According to the Georgia star, on the Honorable C.N.O.T.E.-backed release, this rapper raps about making women move with us. “With these tweets, with these beats, diamonds go twitchy, hold my wrist up, and make her freeze,” he raps in the rap.

The year was 2022. This was the year when Malika Latto released the sophomore LP of her career, 777, a collection of 13 songs of her own compositions and contributions from other artists of her own tradition Nardo Wick, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, Childish Gambino, and Kodak Black. During its first week of chart appearances, both Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts showed the album reaching No. 15 in the first week and No. 8 in the second week respectively. After that, she has continued to keep up the momentum and has released dope records. Some of them include “LOTTERY” by LU KALA and “FTCU” “P**SY,” featuring Gangsta Boo and GloRilla. The MC is not only known for producing top-tier rhymes for her own releases, but for other artists as well, such as Lakeyah, Chlöe, Calvin Harris, Ella Mai, Saucy Santana, Trina, and more over the past year.

In addition to his continuous stream of drops, DDG has also been blessing the fans with a pair of singles in the last month, which include “Reminiscing,” “Way Too Petty,” as well as his most recent, “This Summer.” On Friday (April 20), DDG continues his momentum with a new single called “I’m Geekin.” In the accompanying music video, the rapper takes his family on a luxurious ride while spitting bars to accompany the bragging mood:

DDG’s most recent full-length album is It’s Not Me It’s You, released in 2022, which features NLE Choppa, Kevin Gates, Gunna, Polo G, and Babyface Ray. The album’s release was preceded by well-received singles, including “If I Want You” and “Elon Musk.” He returned shortly thereafter to release the official deluxe edition. A number of new songs were included in the update, including collaborations with Offset, Lakeyah and Coi Leray.

Prior to It’s Not Me It’s You, OG Parker and I jointly released Die 4 Respect in 2021. 11 songs were included in the project, as well as a number of features by artists such as PnB Rock, YoungBoy NBA, and more. A new EP by DaBaby, entitled CALL DA FIREMAN, was released on Friday (May 5). There were three songs on the album and Offset featured on one of them. DaBaby had the honour of bringing the album to the masses. Earlier this week (May 8), the North Carolinian singer released a visual for one of the songs from that same project, “Shake Sumn,” a song that plays in a similar vein to Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” both in terms of the short song structure and its high-energy subject matter, which represent a similar style of music.

The accompanying clip to this Charlie Heat-produced offering is directed by Reel Goats and begins with a humorous skit by the artist Funny Marco, who plays a young fool in the clip. In a later episode, DaBaby dons a fireman’s outfit and engages in a series of synchronized dance sessions inside a warehouse, accompanied by a bunch of fellow dancers. Aside from watching the performance live, viewers are also given the chance to see some behind-the-scenes action afterward.

In a major way, CALL DA FIREMAN is a sequel to a movie release from 2019 called, Baby On Baby. The second installment of Baby On Baby contained a total of 14 dope cuts that included a notable appearance by Anthony Hamilton. As part of the same year, he released one of the most notable albums of the year, BETTER THAN YOU which featured YoungBoy Never Broke Again as well as a number of loose tracks including “SHOWING OFF HER BODY” featuring Davido, “WIG” featuring Moneybagg Yo, “BONNET” featuring Pooh Shiesty, “WAITRESS,” and “TOUGH SKIN.”
