The Memphis Massacre III LP, Duke Deuce’s third album in his fan-favorite Memphis Massacre series, was released last week. The mixtape features a Memphis-only roster of artists, including Big Moochie Grape, Lil Thad, ATM Rich Baby, Glockianna, Dubba C, and Gloss Up, another QC labelmate. The release was accompanied by the video for “Mr. Memphis Massacre,” the first single from the project.
A few hours ago (Nov. 1), the Tennessee native took to social media to release the official music video for the track featured on the mixtape, “Buck The System.” This hilarious visual begins with a scene where the Tennessee native enters a local radio station and asks a DJ to play his new song on the air. Even though the rapper refuses to do so, the “Crunk Ain’t Dead” rapper takes over the studio and blasts out his song regardless of what the artist says. As soon as his hard-hitting lyrics start to fill the room, the only sounds of the entire building are his hard-hitting lyrics:
In June, Deuce released his third album, Memphis Massacre III, following CRUNKSTAR, his debut album. There were a variety of talented names who helped him out with the aforementioned body of work. These names included Slimeroni, Gloss Up, Rico Nasty, Co Cash, GloRilla, JP The Rockstar, Doe Boy, Babyface Ray, Lil Yachty, Juicy J, DJ Tootz, and Dante Smith.
Baby Keem seems to be one of those artists that we are all supposed to like and respect. There is no doubt that the Las Vegas rapper has shot to fame over night, despite the fact that he released EPs and singles before his breakout single “ORANGE SODA.” Keem is set for greatness, and it is without a doubt that he possesses all the qualities that will enable him to attain such lofty status. As quirky and memorable as his lines are, the squeaky and mysterious manner in which he delivers his vocal delivery is also memorable. The way he drops quotables at an impressive rate, he makes his music quotable, and he is a talented producer as well. There is no doubt that every Keem song has its own unique sound. As a result of his close relationship with his cousin Kendrick Lamar, his career is certain to be pushed even further in the future. In addition to the deluxe version of The Melodic Blue, which will be available for a limited time, the 22-year-old rapper also brings us some additional songs for the upcoming Halloween.
As you may have missed earlier in the year when it was announced that Keem’s debut album had been certified gold by the RIAA, then this should come as no surprise to fans given all the impact the album had on the music industry when it was released earlier this year. “I don’t think there is anything like it right now in music, at least not in my opinion,” the Vegas-based artist told Billboard back in September. “I took my time recording every vocal part. During that period of time, I struggled through a lot of things, just learning and growing as a man.” Moreover, he went on saying that he really wanted to make sure he gave people what they really needed, not what they wanted to hear, but what they needed to hear. It would be possible to say that if it were up to some people, it would be easy for me to just make one or several batches of ‘Orange Soda’ and call it a day.”
It is no secret that R&B has had a major comeback in recent times (not that it was ever really away for that prolonged a period of time) and we are all here to enjoy it. As much as this is pleasing news for R&B fans across the globe, it is also a positive indication that DVSN has opened the floodgates again. We are looking forward to being able to share even more dope music with you as a result of this. We are only a few months away from Christmas, but the singers offer us an aural pleasure package that is much needed given the nearness of the holiday season. There is no doubt that you have been put on the spot so far, but it doesn’t matter what you do – we all fall short from time to time in life, and we all have our own reasons for doing so. The time is right for you to become a part of this party, and now is the ideal time to do so. This morning (Oct. 28), the duo is releasing their highly anticipated full-length album, “Working On My Karma“.
A fitting way to close out October is with a release like Working On My Karma. This is indeed some of their most impressive work to date and what a way to end the month of October. DVSN recently spoke to Complex magazine about the concept of the album. As a result, the song will cover many different emotions that will inspire a journey of growth for the listener. “It is said that honour comes before power,” said Daniel Daley, one half of the DVSN group, who said that pride precedes a fall. “In addition, there’s compassion and remorse, growth and reflection, but most importantly, you need to take a long, frank, honest look at yourself in the mirror, don’t you think? Perhaps it could be as simple as getting lost for a moment and attempting to self-medicate through some other, less desirable method. Maybe I am stepping out and I am just trying to have sex because I already screwed up. This album will take you to all the different areas that this kind of stuff can take you in. We are trying to cover the different aspects of how that works. In terms of growth, this should be at least the beginning, if there is anything that needs to be done for it to happen.
As one of the faces of the younger generation of rap today, there can be no doubt that Kodak Black is one of the brightest stars of the genre. This is a scary sight for a lot of rappers, actually, seeing his work ethic and poise that is unmatched by anybody else. He is only heating up right now. In recent years, he has put on some of the highest-quality shows for the South and for his city that have reached an extremely high level, and there is no doubt that his talent is beyond doubt. There was a period when some people didn’t really understand Yak’s greatness. However, his work speaks for itself. In the previous few months, there has been a number of people who have joined our party for the first time. This is despite the fact that it took some time for them to catch up. With the release of Kutthroat Bill Vol. 1, the Sniper Gang front-man returns to bat with his fifth studio album despite his long absence from the stage.
This is the most appropriate time for Yak to release a comprehensive album with a body of work that encompasses all the themes he has been working on for the past few years. The release of a new album comes as no surprise, since it follows along with the success of his hit single “Super Gremlin” that reached the landmark of becoming 4x platinum in its first week. In recent times, Kodak has gained a great deal of attention. Getting people to talk about him, if there is one thing he knows how to do, it is to make them talk about the things he does. The picture she shared with us shows Monica and Yak enjoying a date. He shows off a Birkin bag he purchased for her when they were on a date. Having sparked rumors that they were an item, it is believed by many that it was a marketing tactic that they used to promote any upcoming music they may have in the works. In either case, it is evident that the publicity is working.
While Kodak Black had 19 records, he tapped four features for contributions so that the majority of the album was his own. The spooky season is just around the corner so don’t miss out on checking out the new album coming from the Florida rapper.
It was only a few months ago when Redveil released his latest project, learn 2 swim. This was a 12 track offering featuring contributions from Renaissance Mic, Mekdelawit, Fly Anakin, Sam Truth, and ovrkast. Both kinds of acclaim were received from hip hop peers, and the album ultimately led to a regular appearance on Denzel Curry‘s “MELT MY EYEZ TOUR.”
There was a standout track from learn 2 swim that was self-produced, “PG Baby,” an ode to the rapper’s home state of Maryland:
In response to some teasing on social media, Redveil released a remix of the music video for “PG Baby,” which features an appearance by Curry. The Florida singer’s verse, which makes reference to the town where he grew up in the south, adds much to the song.
A matching video for “PG Baby (Remix)” can be viewed below, where the duo can be seen in the midst of their previously mentioned tour. While they are on vacation, the artists were captured in a lo-res video capturing them living it up in a variety of locations.
