As early as this year, J.I. made his way back with a lot of loose drops such as “Black Roses” and “It’s Officially Done”, the latter of which premiered exclusively on Complex. As he continues to build on his momentum, on March 3rd, the New York City artist released a new song titled “Save You.” This song tells the story of a person needing someone to get them through hard times. Featuring a group therapy session, the short was directed by Derek Dreamfilms and Artixan and is set in a psychiatric hospital. It is only after he reveals to the group of musicians that he is addicted to pain that the 21-year-old rapper reveals to them his regret-filled hook:
It was in 2022 when the artist J.I., who is best known for his “Need Me” record, released his last album Young & Restless, Vol. 1 Baby Don, an album with 12 songs comprised an assortment of fan-favorites such as “Taken for Granted” and “Love Letter.” While this album was slightly lacking in features, it featured production by names like Whippit Up Sensei, Hagan, D.O.C, Chef Dior, Ambezza, GLVCK, CorMill, and more.
According to an interview with J.I., the musician spoke about what it was like to sell out SOBs, a famous venue in New York City, at such short notice. It was a very emotional moment for me because it was a result of hard work. The story of my life is a crazy one. In the future, you guys will be able to understand why it is that I’m so dedicated to my craft and why I go to such lengths to make it successful. I have had a long journey ahead of me. I find myself overwhelmed even by the fact that I am here. In my city, most people do not leave the city. At least, I don’t know of any people who do.” he said.

King’s Disease III was Nas and Hit-Boy’s fourth album together, released in November, 2022. Today (Mar. 1), fans can watch a new visual from that project entitled “30,” which is an homage to Nas’ long and successful career. In addition, the song suggests another rapper-producer album, which their fans have eagerly anticipated since the pair’s first collaboration in 2010.
Nas performs in the video for “30“, a black-and-white clip produced by Sarah McColgan, as various aspects of his rhymes come to life in an almost surreal manner. As you look at the video, it almost reminds you of one created to accompany Big Sean’s classic song, “Blessings.”
It was in 2020 that Nas and Hit-Boy first met, and together, they released King’s Disease, an album that peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured contributions from many artists such as Fivio Foreign, Don Toliver, Big Sean, Anderson .Paak, Lil Durk, and more. A year after King’s Disease 2, which was critically acclaimed, they returned with the critically acclaimed sequel, complete with contributions from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, YG, Eminem, Lauryn Hill, and Blxst.
Nas’ latest album, “Suburbanly Proud”, landed at No. 3 on the aforementioned chart, making it the artist’s highest-charting release in over a decade. The nine-song Magic album was released just before the year came to an end, and everyone was surprised by it. In collaboration with the bicoastal duo with whom they published the aforementioned series previously, a new chapter of the series has already been planned.

On Friday, February 24th, the “Plug Walk” emcee added to what he already had going on with his latest track “Do You Love Me?” Produced by Mozz and Yoshi featuring Bronx’s own Lil Tjay as the featured artist, the track has one of the best verses to date from the rapper.
“Do You Love Me?” was also accompanied by an accompanying video made by Sebastian Beltran, as well. As you can see in the video, the two collaborators are able to relax and record music while they are in an unknown snow-filled location.
As it turns out, it’s been three years since Rich The Kid has released his last long-player, Boss Man, a highly anticipated 20-track record that features a slew of A-listers such as Future, Lil Baby, Nicki Minaj, Quavo, Post Malone, and more. As a result, Rich The Kid was chosen as a collaborator for the joint efforts Nobody Safe and Trust Fund Babies by Lil Wayne and YoungBoy Never Broke Again, respectively. The Louisville rapper EST Gee first released the singles from his new project back in January, which were well recieved by fans, such as “If I Stop Now” and “Blow Up.” The Louisville rapper made some more moves on Friday (Feb. 24), when he released a new song entitled “Undefeated,” an emotionally charged offering produced by VenoTheBuilder and John Gotitt that showcases some tight production. Throughout this track, he confides about the struggles he has faced throughout his life, and how he persevered despite all of them.
“Also, as part of EST Gee’s “Undefeated” project, he has released a video that shows him taking part in Future’s “One Big Party Tour,” which included shots that showed him on stage in front of packed crowds, interacting with Kodak Black and Babyface Ray, and connecting with others in the industry. As the clip ends, he and his crew are reunited with a friend who was just released from prison and he welcomes him back as part of his crew.
As for EST Gee, he had an excellent year in 2022, beginning with Last Ones Left, his collaborative project with CMG artist 42 Dugg. It was not long after this recording that he and his Detroit counterpart would join every other member of Yo Gotti’s collective for the compilation that has been well received: Gangsta Art. As a final note, the songwriter of the hit song “Blood” closed out the year with his official debut LP, I Never Felt Nun, on which 21 different tracks were featured, as well as features from Machine Gun Kelly, Future, Bryson Tiller, Jack Harlow, and Jeezy. The project reached the No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, which is the highest it has ever reached in his career.
