Streaming Rights To ‘Chappelle’s Show’ to be Acquired by Netflix, HBO Max

Streaming services will now show Dave Chappelle’s self-titled sketch comedy show. On November 1st, people can view this popular series on Netflix and HBO Max.

In a non-exclusive licensing deal between ViacomCBS and the Warner-media-backed streaming outlet, HBO Max managed to acquire Chappelle’s ShowInside Amy SchumerReno 911Nathan For You, and Key & Peele. This deal ids essentially an expansion of a previous $500 million deal between HBO Max and Comedy Central in relation to the streaming rights to South Park. From 2003 to 2006, Chappelle’s Show aired on Comedy Central. However it abruptly ended as Chappelle walked out of a $50 million deal with the cable network. For a while, the comedian remained outside the spotlight before signing a $60 million Netflix deal.
