Twitter loses it over upcoming Brandy and Monica Verzuz battle

The Verzuz fight we’ve all been sitting tight for.

Flyers for the upcoming Verzuz set Twitter ablaze on Saturday (August 22). Naturally, everyone started betting on who they think will win. People also shared their reactions to the ad using hilarious memes and imagining what it would be like to see them finally fight live and in person.

“I want to point out that Brandy and Monica both have versions of the flyer where they each come first,” Kimberly N. Foster, editor-in-chief of For Harriet noted in a tweet. “It’s 1999 again!”

Brandy versus Monica is a fight that Verzuz fans have persistently requested and it is the one fight that many people are anticipating.

Brandy and Monica have long been the subject of gossip since the arrival of their 1998 Grammy-winning hit song, “The Boy Is Mine.” Brandy has argued that “The Boy Is Mine” is her theme and supposedly felt something when Monica decided to title her sophomore effort The Boy Is Mine, too.

However, when reviewing Apple Music, “The Boy Is Mine” in Monica’s collection is inaccessible for streaming. However, it is accessible to stream through Brandy’s Never Say Never.

Ultimately, the two women are vocal forces to be reckoned with and have racked up a host of R&B hits and Grammy-awarding gestures at the height of their careers.
“The only battle or Verzuz they want to see with me is me against Brandy, and the reality is, people have put us against each other for twenty-something years,” Monica said in an ongoing meeting with V103 “That would be the only thing that makes sense to me because I’ve been trying to tell people for about 25 years, you can like both! You’re going to turn this into 1998 all over again and I have no interest in that.”

Mulato is makes her mark in Hip-Hop!

Although 2020 has been an incredible year across the board, one thing that is inevitable is the steady rise of women in Hip Hop, and we love to see it. From the success of Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B with their new single “WAP” to Flo Milli’s new EP, Ho, Why Is You Here and much more, it is such a relief to hear women regain control of rap. One could imagine this is what our parents felt in the 90s when artists like Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Foxy Brown, and the other queens of that era took over.

With these gratifying feelings of excitement surrounding women’s releases in today’s climate, Atlanta’s rising star Mulatto takes the spotlight today as she unveils her debut studio album Queen Of Da Souf.

So far, it’s been a great year for the 21-year-old rapper. She earned a spot on XXL’s notable freshman roster, signed a contract with RCA Records, and earned her first RIAA gold plaque. However, one of his greatest achievements was landing a feature film and a co-signer for his favorite rapper (Gucci Mane) on “Muwop.

She’s been rapping since 10 years old and seeing her journey along with the way she’s strategically orchestrated his movements over time is nothing short of motivating for any future artist. One thing about Big Latto – she is here to stay and there is no indicator showing plans to put her foot on the brake anytime soon.

Equipped with 13 records in total, Mulatto included some exceptional features like Gucci Mane, City Girls, 21 Savage, Saweetie, Trina, and more. Judging from the first listen, it’s safe to say that Queen Of Da Souf will be on repeat all day. Like T.I crowned himself “King of the South” years ago and was able to defend that, there is no doubt that Mulatto will do the same for years to come.

Summer Walker leaves nothing to the imagination for “White Tee” visual

The NO1-NOAH-assisted track comes from Walker’s latest EP, “Life On Earth.”

Last month, Summer Walker blessed her fans with the Life On Earth EP, which features 5 new tracks from the chart-topping singer. Last week, the Atlanta star unveiled a new look for the “White Tee” project, a laid-back vibe that sees her and NO1-NOAH setting the expectations of their respective lovers:

“Treat me like white tees, don’t get me dirty, love, love, love on me, love on, love on me/

She cannot come with, I just gotta dip, level up with me, if you f*** with me…/”

Produced by Walker and CrackGod, the sultry cut also comes with a co-directed visual from Ro.lexx that sees the artists having a wild night on the town. Apparently filmed through an old camcorder, shots, twerking, willies, and other libertine activities are in abundance in the clip, with cameos from Smino, Sukihana, and more.
Speaking to Apple Music, Walker explained in more detail the meaning behind the song’s title:

“’White Tee’ is another song featuring NO1-NOAH, and in the chorus he talks about treating someone like a white tee. You know you always wanna keep a white tee fresh and clean, but in my verse, I’m basically saying the opposite.”

Life On Earth follows her well-received studio LP, Over It, which was released last October. That project saw 16 tracks (including two bonus tracks) and features from Drake, Usher, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jhené Aiko, 6LACK, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Over It also proved to be a huge success for Walker, earning a number two spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to 134,000 equivalent units of albums sold during its first week of release. In addition to her own big records, Walker also spent this year helping out on singles by Trey Songz, Khalid, Justin Bieber, Rick Ross and 21 Savage.

Watch the steamy and summer vibe below with Summer Walker, NO1-NOAH, and their friends.
