White professor resigns from GWU after pretending to be Black

A few days after Jessica Krug was asked to resign by the George Washington University Department of History, she chose to step down from her role.

According to the University officials, “Dr. Krug has resigned her position, effective immediately. Her classes for this semester will be taught by other faculty members, and students in those courses will receive additional information this week. We hope that with this update, our community can begin to heal and move forward.”

Last week, Krug, who is a white woman hailing from Kansas had written “The Truth and the Anti-Black Violence of My Lies,” which is a Medium piece, where she apologized for spending many years pretending to be Black.

“To an escalating degree over my adult life, I have eschewed my lived experience as a white Jewish child in suburban Kansas City under various assumed identities within a Blackness that I had no right to claim: first North African Blackness, then US rooted Blackness, then Caribbean rooted Bronx Blackness,” she wrote at the time.

She was an associate history professor who specializes in Africa and Latin America, expressed her regret for lying several times with regard to her identity and stated that she should be canceled.

Upon learning this news, the GWU’s history department issued a statement wherein she was asked to step down

“With what she has termed her ‘audaciously deceptive’ appropriation of an Afro-Caribbean identity, she has betrayed the trust of countless current and former students, fellow scholars of Africana Studies, colleagues in our department and throughout the historical discipline, as well as community activists in New York City and beyond,” part of the statement read.

The department also stated that after learning the truth, they are also beginning to wonder about the validity of her research. Moreover, they stated that if she doesn’t step down, she will be terminated

People are being encouraged by T.I. to buy land using the funds they receive from the government.

On Wednesday, the emcee decided to discuss financial suggestions with his followers on Instagram. He stated that they must refrain from buying luxurious items such as mink coats and Cartier jewelry, and instead, purchase land.

“We were just in the studio having a discussion and I just feel the need to share it,” he said in the short clip. “All y’all getting that money from the government … ain’t no more mink coats in the store — and it’s summer time — ain’t more Cartiers, it ain’t no more Louis Vuitton — go get you some property please. Please y’all, go buy some property.”

Someone in the background then shouted, “Get an LLC God damnit.” Tip replied, “Listen, that could be a big, complex and advance … too much paperwork and procedure in there.”

He continued, “It could be a patch of dirt, bruh. Go to yo’ hood — it ain’t gotta have no house on it or nothing — just buy it. Just buy it and hold it. Ya dig what I’m saying? Now that’s it. I told you. Can’t say you didn’t know.”

Previously, it was reported that the rapper behind Paper Trail will educate people through the “Business of Trap Music” class at Clark Atlanta University this fall. The class will encompass the history of the origin of the sub-genre as well as the economical basis of the impact of trap music on today’s hip hop.

“I’m excited to share my experiences and whatever resources or information I have that can be an asset for the future,” Tip said in a statement. “Drugs have existed for as long as humans have been on earth and music has existed for quite some time as well. The commonality that threads the two together is what makes trap music a dominant force in culture today.”

Stefflon Don releases new music video “Move”

Stefflon Don’s first single of the year has been released. The song is called “Move” and a feisty video has been released to align with the song. The song has been produced by Troyton and is “inspired by the old me, the Steff that the world was first introduced to,” the rapper wrote in a press release.

It is reported that Stefflon has been contributing behind the scenes too. Previously, she first enjoyed credits for songwriting for “Ego Death” by Ty Dolla $ign featuring Kanye West, FKA Twigs, and Skrillex, which was released in July.

In 2018, Stefflon released her most recent full-length project Secure, while she continued to release many other hits. In the year 2019, she collaborated with fellow Quality Control label-mate Lil Baby for their song “Phone Down.” In the same year, she was also seen alongside Idris Elba and Sean Paul, on Wiley’s hit track “Boasty.”

Even when Stefflon is not singing, she ensures that she is heard. Just last year, she spoke at the REVOLT Summit on the “The Global Influence of Hip Hop” panel, which was hosted by Ebro Darden.

Recently, she was bestowed with Female Artist of the Year award at the fifth annual Rated awards in London
