Big Sean says Kendrick Lamar reached out to him after hearing “Deep Reverence”

After the release of Big Sean’s highly anticipated fifth studio album Detroit 2, it is estimated that it will become the No. 1 project in the country. Sean had recently stated in the “Sway In The Morning” interview that he and Kendrick Lamar are not dealing with any actual issues between each other and revealed that the DAMN. rapper got in touch with him following the release of his Nipple Hussle-assisted single, “Deep Reverence.”

Sean also recalled that TDE’s Punch once asked him to reach out to Lamar. He claimed that he tried to text Lamar but he was in possession of a wrong number.

“I never went any further than that,” he said. “I just left it there. So, I had been wanting to do that. When I reached out to him, the mutual respect me and him have for each other is that of like kings and brothers. We respect each other to the fullest.”

Sean stated that their tiff was a result of listening to what people around them were telling them. “The situation was, he thought that people around him were telling him something, people around me were telling me something, and it just really wasn’t the case,” he continued. “So, when we were able to talk, it was a good reconciliation and it was a good mutual respect. Even when he heard ‘Deep Reverence,’ he hit me and was like, ‘Yo, I appreciate you showing that love. I appreciate that love in the verse. You and Nip went crazy. Y’all gassed on it.’”

Moreover, he added that the only reason the song included lines about his relationship with others was to help others learn from his mistakes.

“It was good to get that response from your brother,” he added. “Because, on that record, I just was keeping it open and honest and real. I wasn’t trying to hold back. It was not out of disrespect, either. It was out of respect for myself and the things I’ve learned along the way.”

Black family claims that in a racist attack, windows were smashed

In Detroit, a Black family was subjected to an attack that is now considered to be racially motivated.

It was on September 9, that Eddie and Candace Hall, along with their 18-year-old son heard a hissing noise and went to check on it. They noticed that there was an individual standing behind a car present outside their home. When Eddie was going to bring his gun out, he heard his windows break. It was later seen that a huge rack broke the glass and ended up on their couch and a man wearing a ski mask and a hoodie was seen running away from their house.

“As I was walking through the room, all I hear is a crash,” Candace told the Detroit News. “Glass was flying. I dropped to the floor and started crawling. I was scared.”

The cops who reached the scene saw that a swastika was drawn on Halls’ car along with phrases such as “terrorist Black lives matter,” “get the f-ck out” and “not welcome” on the Halls’ car.

According to Candace, it was a racist attack that was motivated by the Black Lives Matter sign hanging up in their window.

“There is tension because of Black Lives Matter and white supremacists,” Candace explained in a Facebook video detailing the tragic occurrence.

“We are shook up from this. We are not running. I am not going to take my sign down. We are not leaving. We are standing our ground,” she said.

Mayor James Fouts took to Facebook in order to state that they are pursuing the matter at hand.

“Our city is a true melting pot of many different races and religions. All help to make Warren a good community,” he wrote. “They are all welcome but those who would peddle hate and cause destruction are NOT welcome in Warren and should be aware that our city leadership and myself in particular will never stop in pursuit of justice.”

As the video footage is being reviewed, the police department is offering a reward to any person who has information regarding the case.

Black Twitter flips out over Will Smith and Janet Hubert reunion

On September 10, Will Smith surprised fans with the announcement regarding a reunion special of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

“We’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon…” Smith captioned an Instagram post which featured photos of him and cast members Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid and DJ Jazzy Jeff and honored the late James Avery.

However, the most surprising aspect was that the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert, will also appear on the special, although there was tension persistent between her and Smith for many years.

Needless to say, Black Twitter blew up with an array of reactions, most of them echoing the idea that 2020 is unpredictable!

“Janet Hubert and Will Smith are sitting across from each other and smiling. Chile…2020’s waters have been troubled,” one tweet read. “Ask for rain in the time of rain. Ask for favor while favor is falling.”

Another user tweeted, “Will Smith and Janet Hubert in the same room…and she’s not slapping the taste out of his mouth. 2020 has truly been a year of shit I would’ve never seen coming.”

Funnily, it was also questioned if the reunion between both the actors was in the Bible.

“I’m pretty sure Will Smith and Janet Hubert making up was one of the signs in the book of Revelations,” she penned in her tweet.

The reunion was compared to the meetup of Brandy and Monica Verzuz, which also seemed incredulous.

“First we get Brandy verzuz Monica and now Will Smith sitting down with the original Aunt Viv from the Fresh Prince, Janet Hubert??” she wrote. “I never thought I’d see the day cuz Janet talked mad shit for years about the Smiths chile…that’s growth.”

The video was three minutes long and it featured the individual who was alluded to in the caption. The man was speaking to one of the flight attendants. The rapper stated that he was kicked off the flight only because a few people were nervous about seeing a Black man in first class.

While he was leaving the plane, over six police officers could be seen waiting for him.

“Racism is crazy,” he said in the video. “With all this shit going on in the news — Black people getting shot every fucking day — y’all do this on an airplane?”

Then, he also captured the badge numbers and names of the Port Authority officers on camera. Upon reaching the Black officer, he says, “You the brotha. You just doing yo job though.”

Then, East went on to ask the location of the woman who led to his ouster from the flight. He asked, “Y’all gon let her fly? And we gotta get off the plane?” However, the woman did not feature in the video. A man from the team of East approached the man defending East to express his gratitude.

The rapper was supposed to visit Shark Bakery’s Pop Up in Atlanta on Friday night. However, there was no news regarding whether he managed to catch another flight.

Several other teams have decided to address police brutality and racism during this NFL season. For instance, the Miami Dolphins announced that they plan to remain in their locker room when the “Star Spangled Banner” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” are played.

The team released a two-minute clip wherein they spoke about their intention.

“This attempt to unify only creates more divide. So we’ll skip this song and dance, and as a team we’ll stay inside,” the Dolphins players said. “We need changed hearts, not just a response to pressure. Enough, no more fluff and empty gestures. We need owners with influence and pockets bigger than ours to call up officials and flex political power.”
