Black man arrested at gunpoint in his home after neighbors claimed he didn’t live there

In Monona, Wisconsin, a Black man was held at gunpoint at his place by police, after his neighbors reported that they couldn’t recognize him. Now, a federal lawsuit against the city and the officers was filed by Keonte Furdge.

The incident reportedly unfolded sometime after Furdge moved into the home. He was renting the house along with his friend Toren Young, from the son of the owner- who passed away. A neighbor reported to the police that Furdge was sitting at the porch of the house although the place was supposed to be vacant. Moreover, the woman also divulged that Furdge was African American, though it is claimed that his race was not disclosed to the officers who were sent to the house.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers Jared Wedig and Luke Wunsch reportedly saw that the house’s door was left unlocked. It is reported by the Monona Police Department that the cops knocked and announced their presence and when nobody responded, they presumed that it might have been a burglary. Following the alleged protocol for robberies, they entered the home with their guns drawn.

Then, the cops detained Furdge using handcuffs. When they learned that Furdge lived there, they removed the handcuffs and apologized.

Last week, Furdge filed a federal lawsuit against both Wedig and Wunsch and the City of Monona to “vindicate the violation of [his] constitutional rights.” The suit stated that Furdge is also suing the officers and city to make sure nothing like this ever happens to another Monona resident.

“Punishing the defendants for their egregious conduct with the hope that the punishment is significant enough to prevent this from happening again in the future, so that a person can move into a formerly vacant house in the City of Monona and sit on his front porch without having to fear that the police will break in and shoot him,” the suit reads.

Following the incident, the police department reportedly began a review of their suspected burglary procedure.

Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty to launch first menswear collection

Men have something to look forward to as Rihanna is launching a menswear collection from her Savage X Fenty line.

The brand announced their plans to launch a menswear capsule collection on Thursday, before Rih’s next Savage X Fenty fashion show. Rapper Christian Combs will be heading the campaign for the 11-piece collection and he helped in the design aspect to ensure that the collection is the “new Calvin Klein for my generation.”

“I wanted to create men’s wear styles that everyone can wear,” Rihanna said in a statement. “And after Christian did such a great job at the 2019 fashion show wearing men’s, I knew we had to have him as a collaborator.”

For most part, the capsule will incorporate men’s underwear such as boxers, trunks and briefs. A few pieces will come with the Savage X Fenty logo on the waistband, while others will feature monogram prints. The collection will launch on Oct. 2, and the prices will range from $12.92 to $69.95.

Rihanna is now prepping for her upcoming star-studded Savage X Fenty Vol. 2 fashion show, which will release on Oct. 2 exclusively on Amazon Prime. It is reported that Combs, Bella Hadid, Lizzo, Big Sean, Cara Delevingne, Demi Moore, Normani, Paloma Elsesser, Paris Hilton, Willow Smith and Rico Nasty will walk on the ramp to debut pieces from the “Love On The Brain” singer’s Fall 2020 collection.

Ella Mai, Travis Scott, Rosalía, Bad Bunny, Miguel, Mustard and Roddy Ricch will also be performing and Rihanna is slated to make a guest appearance.

Combs spoke to GQ about highly anticipated fashion show. “Fasten your seat belts, get some popcorn, and get to the TV for some amazingness. It’s gonna be sexy,” he said. “A lot of special guests — and King Combs at the climax.”

Public Enemy returns with new album ‘What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down?’

Last month, it was revealed that legendary Hip Hop group Public Enemy had re-signed with Def Jam, which is the cultural foundation that has worked to develop artists such as LL Cool J, The Beastie Boys, Run D.M.C. and many more. Needless to say, Hip Hop fans around the world were delighted. It’s great to see them go back to a label that has played a crucial role in them becoming heroes, especially at a time when the world needs their voice the most. The trio then went on to release their 14th studio album What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down?

The group is one of the most influential rap groups, particularly when it comes to rap music, and Chuck D, Flava Flav and DJ Lord, through this album, demonstrate why they are living legends. In the mid ‘80s, NWA and Public Enemy were popular for their rage. Interestingly, it was not that they were sad, disappointed, or angry at the world. Instead, they were infuriated at their situation as well as that experienced by their people. Moreover, they were angry at the people responsible for the situation.

Furthermore, they were not inclined towards looking for peace, nor were they seeking compassion and conversation. Instead, they just wanted to fight back. In fact, they were symbols of a generation that witnessed effective protest movements eventually lead to a corrupt government, and their hostility caused fear in even the highest levels of government and society.

Currently, the world is going through a disorderly state, because of the pandemic and the frequent killings of Black people, as well as controversies related to voting in the upcoming US election. In such times, Public Enemy has an ideal platform to be the voice of the people.

Bryson Tiller’s deluxe version of ‘T R A P S O U L’ is here

Five years ago, Bryson Tiller made unforgettable debut in the industry with his enthralling studio album T R A P S O U L. Back then, Tiller was labelled as one among the leading singers in R&B, since he gave the genre a fresh touch as he promised to help make it better.

Although this year could not witness any festivals or concerts, it came with the release of many deluxe albums. In other words, if popular artists release any album this year, they most likely follow up with a deluxe offering. Although many people have raised their eyebrows regarding this trend, there continue to be many deluxe albums. On the fifth birthday of T R A P S O U L, this 27-year-old singer released the album’s own deluxe version.

The album includes many records that several fans are vying to listen to on all streaming services, including the “Rambo: Last Blood” remix with The Weeknd, “Self Righteous,” and “Just Another Interlude”.

Recently, Tiller spoke to Billboard about what T R A P S O U L means to him today:

What it means to me now? [My manager] Neil has his wall full of all the Trapsoul accolades and stuff. I stare it at sometimes and I just look at the different song titles or whatever and I’m just like, “Wow. Everyone one of these songs, there was somebody who didn’t believe in it when I played it for them.” Or they may have given me a weird vibe when I played it for them like, “I don’t know. That ain’t it.” But I decided to stick to what I felt was dope and it worked. Here I am five years later.
