This weekend, fans of Childish Gambino received the official news of his forthcoming world tour. As of now, the details are scanty, but the announcement was cleverly hidden in the latest edition of GILGA Radio.

“Childish Gambino New World Tour this summer,” the announcement stated. “Coming to an arena near you. Are you ready?”

Chapter 2: A Look Back at the “This Is America” Tour

In 2018, Childish Gambino’s mesmerizing “This Is America” tour was widely speculated to be his last series of shows. Glover himself hinted at this during the tour’s inaugural stop in Duluth. This speculation, coupled with the rumors of his retirement, set the stage for this month’s official announcement. Glover confirmed that his upcoming projects will be the final chapters under his Childish Gambino moniker.

The Final Releases

The world tour announcement coincides with Glover’s revelation that he’s preparing to release his final albums as Childish Gambino. The first album, Atavista, is expected to be the final version of 3.15.20. The last Gambino album will follow shortly after, serving as the soundtrack for a new film titled Bando Stone & The New World.

In recent days, Glover has been teasing fans with glimpses of his new music. Among these is a collaboration with Ye, which has been met with immediate acclaim. This partnership is particularly significant for Glover, who often cited Ye’s influence in his early career interviews. “Everyday Struggles” is a new video from Stunna Gambino

In an album released via RCA Records on Thursday (August 18), Stunna Gambino released Vultures Don’t Kry. The album featured appearances from A Boogie With Da Hoodie, Lil Perco, and 2KBABY spread over 15 tracks. Gambino shared a music video over the weekend to celebrate the release of the album, which is titled “Everyday Struggles,” the track that introduces the album. As the video’s lyrics describe some of the tough scenarios Gambino dealt with during his upbringing, it vividly recreates some tough scenarios that the rapper went through:

The latest full-length from Gambino was Underrated, which came out earlier this year. There were appearances by Jay Cino, Sleezus Bhrist, David Lee, and Alpha across 14 tracks. Along with his own releases, “Runaway” featuring Jay Esco and Stunna appeared on “Legend” with Lil Spooki as well as Scorey.

“Put It On Da Floor” is the latest single from Latto.

“Put It On Da Floor” is the latest single from Latto.

Latto Coachella performance was well received by fans and now she is back with a slew of new songs for her fans to enjoy. She has a brand new single, “Put It On Da Floor“, which is a collaborative effort made up of Squat Beatz, Go Grizzly, and Pooh Beatz. In it, she shows off her wealth and sends stern messages to those who criticize her.

I previously reported that Latto also collaborated with one of her peers, hip hop artist TiaCorine, for an acoustic version of the viral hit “FreakyT” just recently. “According to the Georgia star, on the Honorable C.N.O.T.E.-backed release, this rapper raps about making women move with us. “With these tweets, with these beats, diamonds go twitchy, hold my wrist up, and make her freeze,” he raps in the rap.

The year was 2022. This was the year when Malika Latto released the sophomore LP of her career, 777, a collection of 13 songs of her own compositions and contributions from other artists of her own tradition Nardo Wick, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, Childish Gambino, and Kodak Black. During its first week of chart appearances, both Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts showed the album reaching No. 15 in the first week and No. 8 in the second week respectively. After that, she has continued to keep up the momentum and has released dope records. Some of them include “LOTTERY” by LU KALA and “FTCU” “P**SY,” featuring Gangsta Boo and GloRilla. The MC is not only known for producing top-tier rhymes for her own releases, but for other artists as well, such as Lakeyah, Chlöe, Calvin Harris, Ella Mai, Saucy Santana, Trina, and more over the past year.

Having just completed a pair of stellar Coachella performances, Latto knows just how good she is. As a way to celebrate her stellar performance on the stage, the ClayCo County-bred artist returned yesterday (April 24) with her new “Put It On Da Floor” video, a short clip that combines all the highlights from her performance into a three-minute clip. The track is produced by Go Grizzly, Pooh Beatz and Squat Beatz. The powerful vocals of Latto are overlaid on top of the instrumental, over the sound of the massive crowd, encouraging her to keep going:

As part of her sophomore LP, 777, which was released back in March 2022, Latto presented our audience with a variety of features, including Childish Gambino, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Nardo Wick, Lil Durk, and Kodak Black. In terms of singles, the album was anchored by her highly successful “Big Energy” track, which was produced by Vaughn Oliver and Dr. Luke and sampled Mariah Carey ’90s classic “Fantasy.” As a result, fans have been able to interact with their favorite songs, such as “Wheelie,” “777,” “It’s Givin,” and “Soufside.”

Besides dropping her own albums, the 24-year-old rapper has made an impression on the music scene by dishing out features to tracks such as “Don’t Play With It (Remix)” from Lola Brooke, “FreakyT (Remix)” from TiaCorine, and more.
