The rap artist Millyz returns today (Nov. 23) with his latest track and video, “Die Clouted.” This feature-length clip, which was done by Dom Bruno in collaboration with the incomparable So Raspy, features cameos from fellow members of the hip hop community including Wallo, G Herbo, and Dave East. During his latest single, “Die Clouted”, Millyz raps about the hardships he has had to endure throughout his journey over sentimental piano and stirring guitar as he raps about experiences that have helped him become the man he is today:
The fifth installation of Millyz’s Blanco series was released back in June, and it has been a fan favourite ever since. Over the course of 17 tracks, Blanco 5 enlisted the assistance of artists like Styles P, Peezy, Mozzy, Cousin Stizz, Jadakiss, Dave East, and plenty more for assistance. In advance of the release of the album, singles such as “Highbeams,” “Ashes In The Maybach,” and “Rearview Mirror.”
Before that, there was Blanco 4, which also featured 17 tracks and was a collaboration with several artists, including Jazzy Amra, Jadakiss, Asian Doll, Benny The Butcher, G Herbo, and Big Homiie G. Along with his own releases, Millyz has been featured on some of the hottest tracks of the year, including “Step Outside” featuring Termanology and Paul Wall, “Next Level” featuring Berner, “Nauseous” featuring Merkules, “Tommy Egan” by OT The Real and DJ Kay Slay, and more.
In addition to 13 brand-new songs, the fourth album from Lecrae Church Clothes series features several guest appearances. It features A.I. The Anomaly, Jon Keith, WHATUPRG, Andy Mineo, Jordan L’Oreal, Nobigdyl., and PJ Morton. An Instagram post he made just before the album’s release explained the meaning behind the project, as well as its predecessors:
The Church Clothes project is interesting to me because I feel that it is the most accurate representation of my values and what I believe in. The story of a hip hop culture raised kid who came to know Jesus when he was in high school. I consider them both to be a part of who I am as a person. It is like combining Outkast with the writings of Moses. We each have a lane in which God has called us to run. Run your marathon as I run mine.
In addition, fans were also able to catch a glimpse of the new video for the track that stands out among the rest on Church Clothes 4: “Still In America,” which is believed to be an extension of Lecrae‘s “Welcome to America.” Shot by Isaac Deitz and taken by another cameraman, the video for “Still In America” shows Lecrae walking down the street as things become increasingly chaotic around him, in matching with the song’s socially and politically charged content:
Church Clothes 4 is Lecrae’s follow-up to No Church in a While, his collaborative project with 1K Phew released last December. Previously, he released the record Restoration in 2020, which featured collaborations with artists such as DaniLeigh, John Legend, YK Osiris, Kirk Franklin, and BJ the Chicago Kid.
At the moment, IDK is touring with Pusha T as part of Pusha T’s “It’s Almost Dry Tour.” On October 28, the Maryland-born singer-songwriter treated fans to “Monsieur Dior,” a beautifully crafted single. In this track, samples are taken from “Huit Octobre 1971” from the French jazz band Cortex, a band which is well known to hip hop fans as part of MF DOOM’s “One Beer” record. A video accompanying the song “Monsieur Dior” includes clips of IDK at Howard University’s Homecoming as well as Dior’s show at the Paris Opera House as the lyrics provide a soundtrack to his incredible experiences:
The Simple album was released back in May by IDK and Kaytranada, and it featured eight tracks and only two features, which were from Mike Dimes and Denzel Curry. It was preceded by a well-received lead single featuring Denzel Curry, titled “Dog Food,” which was released prior to the album’s release. As a result, fans have been able to get a glimpse of the official videos for a number of tracks from the project, including “Dog Food” and “Breathe.” However, shortly afterward, the rapper who was described as “shooting my shot” returned to delight fans with two more smooth songs, “Drive” and “Free Slime,” which eventually culminated into an EP he titled W13.
It was only a few months ago when Redveil released his latest project, learn 2 swim. This was a 12 track offering featuring contributions from Renaissance Mic, Mekdelawit, Fly Anakin, Sam Truth, and ovrkast. Both kinds of acclaim were received from hip hop peers, and the album ultimately led to a regular appearance on Denzel Curry‘s “MELT MY EYEZ TOUR.”
There was a standout track from learn 2 swim that was self-produced, “PG Baby,” an ode to the rapper’s home state of Maryland:
In response to some teasing on social media, Redveil released a remix of the music video for “PG Baby,” which features an appearance by Curry. The Florida singer’s verse, which makes reference to the town where he grew up in the south, adds much to the song.
A matching video for “PG Baby (Remix)” can be viewed below, where the duo can be seen in the midst of their previously mentioned tour. While they are on vacation, the artists were captured in a lo-res video capturing them living it up in a variety of locations.
The GloRilla community is currently on fire. In addition to her recently released hit single “F.N.F.” (Go Together), the newly minted Collective Music Group recording artist has added notable collaborations and songs to her repertoire, such as “Tomorrow,” and “Blessed,” featuring Macaroni Toni and “JUST SAY THAT” by Duke Deuce, and featured on the CMG compilation Gangsta Art.
As of today (Sept. 23), fans have the opportunity to listen to the remix of “Tomorrow” known as “Tomorrow 2” featuring hip hop superstar Cardi B. According to expectations, the New York swagger matches her Memphis counterpart with equally scathing bars about her detractors:
In addition to the song’s audio, GloRilla also released a visual showing her meeting Cardi B in New York City. It is common to see both of them riding high-end whips through the streets, slipping into the subway system, and even breaking out some dance moves with their crew. There is also a chance that viewers will be able to see Cardi’s sister, Hennessy Carolina.
During a recent episode of “Big Facts,” GloRilla explained how future releases will demonstrate her versatility as
Normally, I’m not a maker of twerk music and anthems, but I accidentally did that with ‘F.N.F.’. That wasn’t my intention, but it turned out that way. As a result, a lot of people are expecting that from me, but I have a different kind of music in store for them.”
