The Memphis Massacre III LP, Duke Deuce’s third album in his fan-favorite Memphis Massacre series, was released last week. The mixtape features a Memphis-only roster of artists, including Big Moochie Grape, Lil Thad, ATM Rich Baby, Glockianna, Dubba C, and Gloss Up, another QC labelmate. The release was accompanied by the video for “Mr. Memphis Massacre,” the first single from the project.
A few hours ago (Nov. 1), the Tennessee native took to social media to release the official music video for the track featured on the mixtape, “Buck The System.” This hilarious visual begins with a scene where the Tennessee native enters a local radio station and asks a DJ to play his new song on the air. Even though the rapper refuses to do so, the “Crunk Ain’t Dead” rapper takes over the studio and blasts out his song regardless of what the artist says. As soon as his hard-hitting lyrics start to fill the room, the only sounds of the entire building are his hard-hitting lyrics:
In June, Deuce released his third album, Memphis Massacre III, following CRUNKSTAR, his debut album. There were a variety of talented names who helped him out with the aforementioned body of work. These names included Slimeroni, Gloss Up, Rico Nasty, Co Cash, GloRilla, JP The Rockstar, Doe Boy, Babyface Ray, Lil Yachty, Juicy J, DJ Tootz, and Dante Smith.
Lil Gnar has been confirmed by Chief Keef as his first official signing since the launch of his brand-new record label 43B in June. A new collaboration between Gnar and Chief Keef was released yesterday (Sept. 6) in the form of a video and song, “Almighty Gnar.” In the video, the young rappers share vignettes depicting them working behind the scenes with Keef, while his hard-hitting opening verse plays:
It was earlier this year that Lil Gnar released DIE BOUT IT, an 18-track album that included features from Lil Skies, Ski Mask the Slump God, Lil Keed, Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and plenty others. The previous album, Fire Hazard, had 12 tracks with special guest appearances from UnoTheActivist, Tyla Yaweh, Thouxanbanfauni, Craig Xen, Lil Yachty, Robb Bank$, YBN Nahmir, and more.
Featuring Lil Durk, Southside joins forces with 808 Mafia for “Save Me,” which embodies the heavy, street-oriented sounds that make the collective one of hip-hop’s most prolific producers. This song follows April’s “Hold That Heat,” a collaboration with Future and Travis Scott that featured all three parties boasting about their rock star lifestyles:
There is no doubt that you are familiar with Southside’s hits even if you are unfamiliar with the artist. As far as work produced under his own name is concerned, the Atlanta beatsmith has released songs such as “Been Thru This Before” featuring Saint Jhn and Giggs, “Hmmm” alongside Valee and Lil Yachty, “Blue Jean Bandit” featuring Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, TM88, and Future and “Order” by Gunna and TM88. Along with his own work, Southside has also been responsible for classics (past and present) including Polo G “Young N Dumb,” Doe Boy “BIG OH REALLY,” Roddy Ricch “thailand,” Gunna “poochie gown,” Babyface Ray “6 Mile Show,” EST Gee “Riata Dada,” G Herbo “Locked In,” and Lil Durk “AHHH HA.”
A few of Southside’s biggest career achievements were discussed during a past interview with Complex:
The experience of watching my little brothers and sisters sing stuff I made, like beats I made or songs I composed. Once my mom sent me a text saying, “Yeah, you made that beat.” I felt like I had achieved something. There is no amount of money that can replace that feeling.”
A deluxe version of Babyface Ray’s album FACE was released last month. It added eight new tracks to the project, in addition to collaborations with DJ Esco, Lil Yachty, Lucki, and more. As part of an upgraded release this week, the Detroit talent revealed a music video for “Spending Spree,” a Hendrix Smoke, DY Krazy, BMarch808Mafia, and Kayn-produced track that has Veeze joining the group and seeing both of them focused on money before anything else:
The accompanying clip for “Spending Spree” was created by Image Control Studios, and features Babyface and Veeze testing out some jewelry and money in a garage while a whip is playing in the background. Their crews can also be seen in an undisclosed location with their respective vehicles.
Face made its initial appearance in January with 20 cuts and the help of Icewear Yung Lean, 42 Dugg, G Herbo, Pusha T, Landstrip Chip, Vezzo, and Wiz Khalifa. After a year and a half after his well-received seven-track EP Unfuckwitable, Babyface Ray has released his sophomore project featuring guest appearances from Moneybagg Yo, EST Gee, and Kash Doll. In the same way as FACE, Unfuckwitable was later reissued with a deluxe edition packed with two additional tracks.
Rappers have been hitting the scene in recent times and Fivio Foreign is one of those. A rapper who consistently creates bangers from singles and features without any full-length albums must be a different breed of artist. The popularity of social media and streaming is reaching new heights every day, which makes it possible that music will be here tomorrow and gone the next. Even though he has yet to prove to the world that he can overcome the odds set against him in this industry, New York rapper Eminem has proven beyond doubt that he can succeed. The highly anticipated debut album of Fivio Foreign, titled B.I.B.L.E., is now available.
In conjunction with the release of his second album, B.I.B.L.E., Brooklyn rapper Big Drip has released a documentary. Directed by Sam Balaban, the film takes an in-depth look at the life of “Big Drip” rapper, unveiling his family, the creative process of how he created music, and his experiences with losing those he loved, including his mother. One somber scene shows him saying, “I have lost family members and people close to me all my life.” “Death has always been a part of my life. When my mother died, I couldn’t forget her. When you experience these moments, you kinda wonder if God is real. But it’s important to remember that God is the reason we experience these moments. It’s natural to be sad sometimes, but we have to understand that it’s just part of life.”
Ye served as the executive producer for the album in an effort to add some sauce. Featuring 17 songs and 17 features, B.I.B.L.E. includes Ye, A$AP Rocky, Quavo, DJ Khaled, Alicia Keys, Lil Yachty, Vory, Polo G and more!
