Ahead of the summer holidays, Idris Elba released a new single called “Biggest,” an energetic club song co-produced by Dave Hammer and Manon Dave. In addition to his rapping over the infectious production, Elba expresses his desire to keep the party going in the following manner:
“Biggest” is a self-directed video Idris released yesterday (Sept. 22), which begins with him returning to the warehouse venue where he partied the night before. In his mind, he imagines a wild function, including an encounter with a love interest that was played by his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba. Toward the end of the clip, Sabrina snaps back to reality when a woman also Sabrina appears to be given a tour by the owner.
A series of impressive musical releases by Elba have taken place this year, starting with January’s Cordi Elba, a collaborative EP with Lime Cordiale. Aside from these, he released electronic-inspired tracks such as “Body Shots” and “Walk Of Shame” the following May and July, respectively. His collaborations with other artists include Drizilik “Ashobi,” Zedon “Monsters,”and “Aces” with Akintoye, Connor Price, and 4Korners. In addition to his continued work on the big screen, moviegoers may wish to see Beast and Three Thousand Years of Longing, two of the most recent films he appears in.
On November 10, Kid Cudi will release his eighth studio album Entergalactic, which has been praised for its first single “Do What I Want.” An animated film with a similar title will also be released on Netflix. Entergalactic is described as “the story of a pair of young artists who navigate New York City’s twists and turns while finding love.”
“Willing To Trust” is the title of a new song from Cleveland-based artist Cleveland, which he produced alongside Ramii and E.Vax. Ty Dolla $ign also lends his assistance to the track by singing about the most important aspect of relationships:
As soon as it arrives, Entergalactic will proceed with The Boy Who Flew to the Moon, Vol. A further release from Cudi in 2022 featured some of his biggest hits, such as “Day ‘n’ Nite,” “Just What I Am,” “Pursuit of Happiness.” Before that, Cudi released Man on the Moon III: The Chosen a year earlier, which featured 18 songs as well as contributions from Phoebe Bridgers, Pop Smoke, Skepta, and Trippie Redd. As a result of 144,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week, the album marked the musician’s solo debut, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
The GloRilla community is currently on fire. In addition to her recently released hit single “F.N.F.” (Go Together), the newly minted Collective Music Group recording artist has added notable collaborations and songs to her repertoire, such as “Tomorrow,” and “Blessed,” featuring Macaroni Toni and “JUST SAY THAT” by Duke Deuce, and featured on the CMG compilation Gangsta Art.
As of today (Sept. 23), fans have the opportunity to listen to the remix of “Tomorrow” known as “Tomorrow 2” featuring hip hop superstar Cardi B. According to expectations, the New York swagger matches her Memphis counterpart with equally scathing bars about her detractors:
In addition to the song’s audio, GloRilla also released a visual showing her meeting Cardi B in New York City. It is common to see both of them riding high-end whips through the streets, slipping into the subway system, and even breaking out some dance moves with their crew. There is also a chance that viewers will be able to see Cardi’s sister, Hennessy Carolina.
During a recent episode of “Big Facts,” GloRilla explained how future releases will demonstrate her versatility as
Normally, I’m not a maker of twerk music and anthems, but I accidentally did that with ‘F.N.F.’. That wasn’t my intention, but it turned out that way. As a result, a lot of people are expecting that from me, but I have a different kind of music in store for them.”
The moMINTs project from Tobe Nwigwe was launched last month, and he has consistently shared visuals from the body of work. The clips have been well received so far, including “Lord Forgive Me,” “Get A Lil Bag,” “Big Cap” which features his wife Pharrell Williams, Fat, and Johnny Venus of EarthGang, “Destruction,” “Round Here (Parts 1 and 2),” and “Been Broke” Chamillionaire, starring Fat, and 2 Chainz.
A day earlier (Sept. 20), Nwigwe released the official music video for the group’s newest single “Mini Me.” Fat and Dame D.O.L.L.A. appear on the track, which sees them come together in a stunning garden for a live performance of their collaboration. The song begins with Nwigwe handling the verse:
In 2020, Nwigwe dropped Cincoriginals, a 14-track compilation that included Killa Kyleon, Black Thought, Trae Tha Truth, Cyhi The Prynce, Bun B, D Smoke, Royce da 5’9”, Big K.R.I.T., Fat, as well as his go-to producer LaNell Grant. It has been almost two years since he dropped loose records like “Wake Up Everybody,” “A Million,” and “A Revealing Freestyle.”
It was last week that NAV released his fourth studio LP Demons Protected by Angels. This album features performances from Lil Uzi Vert, Babyface Ray, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Bryson Tiller, and more. Soon thereafter (Sept. 10), the Canadian artist dropped a new visual for “Lost Me,” in which he collaborated with RealestK on a song about a love interest that proved disloyal:
A black-and-white clip accompanying the music video for the NAV, 254Bodi, Money Musik, and HONEYWOODSIX-produced track portrays a single room in an artsy manner. NAV sits on a throne with an amount of money, and RealestK makes his appearance flanked by mannequins wearing sunglasses.
In the first week of the album’s release, Hits Daily Double estimates that Demons Protected by Angels will sell 50,000 to 55,000 equivalent album units. The number of units sold for Emergency Tsunami, released in 2020, would be higher if the figures are accurate. Emergency Tsunami debuted on the Billboard 200 at number six thanks to the sale of 42,000 units. As with Demons Protected by Angels, Emergency Tsunami showcased a variety of star power, featuring Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Baby, SahBabii, Future, and the late Lil Keed.
