On January 6th, the United States of America witnessed a tragedy. During what was supposed to be the certification of Joe Biden’s general election win by the Congress, thousands of supporters of Trump entered the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. to stage demonstrations. They even vandalized several offices of government officials, engaged in lootings, and shouted that Trump had won the election. Several media houses have reported that four people died in this commotion.
A man in Texas filed a lawsuit against two cops, as they pepper sprayed him for taking a video of his son’s arrest. It was to his grandmother’s house that Dylan Puente was driving on August 15, and cops pulled him over and issued a ticket as he made a right turn that was wide. After he decided to roll up his window, Sergeant Blake Shimanek arrested the 22-year-old, stating he was acting suspicious.
A whites-only church was approved by a city council, which will now be opened in Murdock, Minnesota. But according to reports, this is being fought against by the 280 residents. Reports have stated that the Asatru Folk Assembly practices a religion that is not Christian and can be traced back to Northern Europe.
In Ohio, police officers fatally shot a Black man, when he was in his garage. It was in response to a non-emergency call at midnight that the cops reached the area, in relation to a car that is being switched on and off in the street. Andre Maurice Hill was present in an open garage and was shot from behind.
On December 19, an innocent Black man was not only handcuffed, but was also escorted out of Lynnhaven Mall, on Virginia Beach, as he was mistaken to be a suspect. The incident was caught on video which became viral on social media, and the officers can be seen detaining the man, who was called Jamar, when he was with his family.
