The Florida teacher, Tracey Brown, who is being investigated for comments that were racist in nature, was recently reassigned. Currently, the Osceola School District is still looking into the incident. However, the social studies teacher of the Poinciana High School will no longer work in a role wherein she can interact with children. This comes after Brown stated that she “has much right as anybody else to dislike Blacks,” during a Zoom lecture. She made this comment in relation to the Black Lives Matter movement discourse between her students. To seek disciplinary action against her, a petition was started which received over 4,000 signatures.
