In the music industry, Dej Loaf once had the reputation of being one of the most exciting talents at a particular point in time. The Detroit rapper has made a name for herself, coining a style of her own with ease, and has garnered a number of hits, including the critically acclaimed “Try Me” and the infectious “No Fear”, making her a hit in the music industry. In the aftermath of her incredible success, she took a musical hiatus that left her fans worried that she would never return. There is no doubt that the Midwest star has come out to make her formal return. This could not have been at a better time, and fortunately she has made her return earlier than expected. In the past two days (Nov. 28 and 29), she was kind enough to give fans a new single called “I’m Back,” and things seem to be coming together again for her.
There was much concern among fans last December when Dej Loaf announced that she might be retiring from the music industry. In spite of the fact that the reasons why it was done were unknown, it left a sour taste in the mouths of people. In the end, she retracted her statements thanks to fellow Detroit rapper Sada Baby, who aided her in retracting her remarks. Taking to Twitter, he expressed his support to Loaf, giving her a bouquet of flowers and appealing to her to not give up. “We will miss you @DeJLoaf, please don’t retire anytime soon,” Sada wrote with a screenshot of a screenshot of him listening to DeJ Loaf’s “No Passes” on Apple Music when he wrote the message. “From our side, you were the one that came first before anybody else, and I mean that in a very sincere way. Love you and appreciate the strength of your soul and the inspiration you gave me just by being yourself.”
As a result of DeJ Loaf’s response to Sada Baby’s tweet on Twitter, she thanked him for his kind words. However, she also announced that she was suspending her retirement plans until further notice. Thanks a lot, Sada! It is a pleasure to work with you! ” She replied with a smile. “What an amazing craft and energy you have! I love you! It is always a pleasure to be seen clearly by you! I am not planning to retire.”
As for Dej, she has been feeling a bit of a lull over the past year, but she is now catching up on lost time. A couple of weeks ago, she announced that she was going to release new music every week starting in late October. This is a way of remembrance for those who have doubted her at any point in the past. “I’m back better than ever b**Ch,” she wrote on Instagram. I would like to turn you on! This is going to be done every week until the players get the picture that I had in mind when I first entered the field.”

On Wednesday (Nov. 23), prosecutors announced the Detroit police officers involved in the shooting death of 20-year-old Porter Burks would not face charges. Officers responded to a 911 call from Burks’ brother on Oct. 23, who said his brother was having a mental health crisis and was armed with a knife.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Kym Worthy: released a statement on Wednesday saying, “After a thorough review of the evidence, we have determined that there is insufficient evidence to warrant criminal charges against either officer in this case.” The footage contradicted the officers’ initial statements that Burks had lunged at them with the knife before they opened fire. The officers then shot him multiple times, and he later died at the hospital. Prosecutors said that while the footage showed Burks did not pose an immediate threat to the officers when he was shot, they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the officers acted unlawfully. The decision not to bring charges against the officers has sparked outrage in the community, with many people taking to social media to express their frustration.
The #JusticeforPorter hashtag has been trending on Twitter, with people calling for accountability and transparency in the case. This is yet another example of how the criminal justice system fails to protect Black lives. The family of Burks has since filed a lawsuit against the city, alleging that the officers used excessive force and failed to provide medical attention after he was shot. Protesters have taken to the streets in recent days to demand justice for Burks, and his family has vowed to continue fighting for accountability.

On May 14, Payton Gendron opened fire in a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, NY, killing 10 people and injuring three more. Gendron, a 19-year-old white man, was taken into custody later that same day and has now plead guilty to all charges related to the massacre. While authorities have not released a motive for the shooting, they have ruled out any links to terrorism.
They were members of our community who will be forever missed. As we continue to mourn the loss of those who were killed in this tragic event, we must also remember the strength and resilience of our community. In the face of such darkness, we must come together and support one another. We will not let this act of violence define us; instead, we will stand together and show the world that we are #BuffaloStrong.
Gendron’s attorneys released a statement following his guilty plea, saying that he “takes full responsibility” for his actions and expressing their condolences to the families of the victims. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to not seek the death penalty against Gendron.
Gendron pled guilty to all 13 charges on Thursday morning, just hours before his trial was set to begin. In a statement to the court, Gendron said that he “deeply regretted” his actions and that he was “prepared to accept the consequences.” The sentencing phase of the trial is set to begin next week, at which time Gendron could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.

WNBA star Brittney Griner has begun her Russian prison sentence after a judge ruled, she will face nine years behind bars. The decision came in August after the athlete was caught traveling with cannabis oil, which is illegal in Russia. Griner is reportedly facing racism, homophobia and grueling work days in prison. She is said to be working 12-hour shifts in the prison factory and is not allowed to have any contact with the outside world.
According to The Athletic, she is one of only two African-American inmates at the prison, and she has been subjected to racist slurs from both inmates and guards. Griner is also said to be facing homophobic abuse from both inmates and guards. Griner is reportedly struggling to adjust to the conditions and is feeling isolated and alone. Despite the difficult situation, Griner remains positive and is hopeful that she will be released early.
Griner has been outspoken about her sexual orientation and has been an advocate for the LGBT community. She will now be forced to serve her sentence in a country that is notoriously anti-gay Griner’s case highlights the harsh reality of drug laws in many parts of the world. While possession of small amounts of cannabis is often treated lightly in the West, it can still lead to lengthy prison sentences in other parts of the globe.
