Yung Bleu and M Huncho collaborate on “Who We Are”

M Huncho’s debut studio album, Chasing Euphoria, is set for a late October release. Thus far, the mashup includes the singles “Warzone” featuring Headie One, “Lean” featuring Giggs, and “The Worst.” Following that, the masked artist offers “Who We Are,” a Linah Bensadok-produced track featuring Yung Bleu that sees them reflecting on their humble beginnings:

Featuring Myles Whittingham as director, the accompanying video for “Who Are We” shows an unidentified youth (presumably Huncho) fitting the song’s theme by hanging out with his friends, pretending that they’re rappers, and (at the end of it all) playing some music. Yung Bleu and Huncho also deliver their songs’ lines in different locations, among which are a car dealership and a diner.

2020’s Huncholini the 1st was M Huncho’s most recent solo album, and it featured thirteen tracks as well as guest appearances from D-Block Europe, Headie One, and Nafe Smallz. As well as achieving a Top 5 spot on the UK Albums chart, Huncho received a Silver certification and received critical acclaim. In the next year, he teamed up with Smallz for the hit song DNA, another top ten success with the assistance from Yxng Bane and Young Adz.

The latest Toosii single has a “keeper”

Toosii’s latest release, Thank You For Believing, was released on November 1, almost one year ago today. The 13-song project features collaborations with DaBaby, Latto, and Key Glock. A few months later, fans were able to purchase the deluxe edition of Thank You For Believing (dubbed The Manifestation), which brought ten new tracks and new contributions from Fivio Foreign and Hotboii. Not content with 2021, December brought Pretty Girls Love Toosii, an EP comprised of three songs, including Jacquees-backed track “Never Leave Her.”

Over the past year we have seen Toosii remain committed to his work and release entries like the Valentine’s Day single “Love Me Easy” within the last couple of weeks. Syracuse-to-Raleigh talent can also be heard on other tracks like 100K Track “No Love Too,” Lil GotIt “Take Care,” Portion “Eastside,” Yungeen Ace “Dead Roses,” HXLLYWOOD “Don’t Matter,” and 3Breezy “Gangsta Wit It (Pt. 2).” Today (May 5), Toosii returns with his latest track entitled “Keeper,” in which he expresses both his love and emotions towards his significant other, the soon-to-be mum Samaria J. Davis:

Additionally, “Keeper” contains a visual that complements the subject matter of the song by showing Toosii and his partner’s relationship. As well as couples from all walks of life, viewers will also see shots of other couples throughout the song, further emphasising its positive vibes.

“Greatness” is the new video from Ace Hood and Killer Mike

A project by Ace Hood called M.I.N.D., which had 10 introspective tracks, was released in February. Killer Mike is the only featured artist on M.I.N.D.’s track “Greatness“, and the official accompanying video has just been released (May 5). The visually enthralling visual pays homage to the late Young Dolph and Nipsey Hussle with clips and artwork throughout the visual while Ace Hood sings emotion-filled verses:

Earlier this year, Ace Hood released his fifth studio album Mr. Hood, his first release since splitting with We The Best excluding his Body Bag and Trust The Process mixtape series. There are 14 high quality tracks on this project, with contributions from OZ, Alexdynamix, Jacquees and Slim Diesel.

Ace Hood has taken some time to discuss his journey of financial literacy in a recent interview:

“I decided to invest in myself first. This was the first investment I made. My involvement began while I was a member of Dollaz N Dealz back in Deerfield. Although we were labeling ourselves at that time, I felt like I could accomplish more. I have always dreamed big coming from such a small town, so financial literacy has always been a priority to me. As a business, I realized that I needed to invest in myself. Creating my LLC years ago, adopting the business mentality, and trying to treat my money well.”

Young Dolph and J Stone collaborate on new single “Weekend”

Young Dolph and J Stone collaborate on new single “Weekend”

J Stone announced this week that he would release The Definition Of Sacrifice, the final installment in his trilogy “Definition”. Among the artists who are working on the project are Young Dolph, Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss,, Mozzy, OT Genasis, Styles P, K Camp, and Lumidee. The announcement of the upcoming album was accompanied by release of a brand-new single, “Weekend”. This track features an outstanding feature by the late and legendary Young Dolph and captures the excitement of making it to the end of the week:

The chemistry, the game of independent grind we share, and our shared drive made working with Dolph like working with Nipsey. Almost every single day, he would FaceTime me about shooting the video. “Unfortunately, the unimaginable tragedy took place almost just as hard as Nip’s passing,” Stone said in a press release about the collaboration. Nevertheless, I will stick with the script and the plans that both Dolph and I had for The Weekend because that is what he would have desired. A hymn to remember, a song for a lifetime.”

The Definition of Pain and Ground Zero were two J Stone projects released last year. As for the project, it contains 18 tracks total and features artists such as the late great T.I., Nipsey Hussle, T-Pain, Dom Kennedy, Dave East, Mike D’Angelo, and more. Pacman da Gunman collaborated with Ground Zero. Those two projects were preceded by The Definition of Loyalty from 2019. The Bootleg Kev Podcast’s J Stone confirmed earlier today that a posthumous Nipsey Hussle album will definitely happen someday.

‘Loner Life’ video from NBA YoungBoy

It was announced, back in April, that NBA YoungBoy had released The Last Slimeto Sampler, an 11-song mixtape that served as a preview to YoungBoy’s final album for Atlantic Records. It was as a result of that release that Haze, Hurtboy AG, Hzrd, Zuus and Jason Goldberg contributed to the song, “Loner Life,” in which the Baton Rouge star discusses being alone as a downside of his success:

YoungBoy releases the video for “Loner Life,” a song that mostly portrays him smoking in the woods by himself. He is also seen looking over the balcony of some unknown building and riding a motorcycle to an unknown destination.

In releasing The Last Slimeto, Slimeto will follow January’s Colors, a commercial mixtape that featured 19 songs and 20 tracks if you include the deluxe edition, with one assist from Quando Rondo. He revealed the upcoming album was compiled by his engineer Jason “Cheese” Goldberg and is expected to feature tracks such as “I Hate YoungBoy” and “I Got The Bag.” He prior to that released his third studio album Sincerely, Kentrell, a featureless album as a result of which YoungBoy received his fourth number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 137,000 album equivalent units sold in its first week.
