It wasn’t long ago that G Perico and Gotdamnitdupri released their LA SUMMERS2 project, a nine-track collection that bids a fond farewell to summer. Their latest mixtape offering was released yesterday (Sept. 12), the official music video for “Did A Lot.” The video was directed by Bijan Productions and features G Perico blasting through the streets of Los Angeles in a black and white Mercedes. As he glides over the Gotdamnitdupri-produced beat, he speaks about enjoying the fruits of his labor in the following words:
It’s not the first time the rapper-producer couple has teamed up in 2017, as they also released a joint mixtape back in February. Moreover, G Perico released the 111th East EP in July, a six-track collection without featuring. He has consistently treated fans with loose drops all throughout this year, including cuts like “Bacc 2 The Blocc” “That’s My Dawg,” with Curren$y, “Another League,” “Crash” by Sorry Jaynari, and “10 Digits” “Westside Connection,” featuring J Stone.
As part of the fan-favorite series that started in 2019, BlueBucksClan will unveil the third installment of Clan Way 3 on Oct. 7. The series has already featured singles such as “I Guess,” “FYM,” and “Just Hit Me.” Over the weekend, the West Coast duo released the music video for its latest single, “Jeeezy WYA,” directed by Michael Vincent. During the course of the song, the two players exchange bars back and forth as they attempt to navigate an action-packed night out together:
The BlueBucksClan returned to the scene with their See The Difference project earlier this year. Despite the EP’s short length, it was composed of four smooth songs without any features. Earlier in 2020, the duo released Clan Virus 2, which topped their list of seven projects in two years.
The two members of BlueBucksClan are currently supporting OhGeesy on the “Geezy World Tour.” Additionally, Drake co-signed the group, referring to them as “two goats” in an Instagram story he posted last month.
A new studio LP from Wiz Khalifa, titled Multiverse, was released in July and featured 17 songs with contributions from Girl Talk and THEY. It was yesterday (Sept. 11) that the Pittsburgh rapper dropped the new visual from his upcoming project, “High Maintenance,” which sees him crooning about his own highs and lows as a celebrity and wealthmaker:
The video accompanying “High Maintenance” reminds viewers of Khalifa’s iconic “DayToday” series, providing a glimpse into Khalifa’s busy life behind the scenes. In less than three minutes, you can watch Khalifa at the gym, performing with his son Sebastian before an audience of friends, and indulging in his usual vices.
In the months leading up to the release of Multiverse, Wiz Khalifa collaborated with Big K.R.I.T., Girl Talk, and Smoke DZA on the successful album Full Court Press. The album features 10 songs, including one with Curren$y. Aside from Stoner’s Night, as well as a notable collaboration with Elle Varner and BIG30 in 2022, the Taylor Gang head honcho teamed up with Juicy J for Stoner’s Night as well. Khalifa is known for releasing musical projects frequently, so it is not surprising that he will release another project or two before the end of the year.
As part of the 27-song Gangsta Art compilation, Yo Gotti and the Collective Music Group roster teamed up last month. In addition to the visuals posted yesterday (Sept. 5), there is also another track from the project called “Strong,” produced by EST Gee and Moneybagg Yo. With production from FOREVEROLLING, Flex on the Beat, and Mikka, “Strong” features the two CMG frontrunners sharing their views on their respective lifestyles, remaining ten toes down on the streets, and more:
The accompanying video for “Strong” was created by Diesel Films and focuses primarily on a concert organized by the CMG camp. In addition to Moneybagg Yo and GloRilla, EST Gee, BIG30, Lil Durk, Blac Youngsta, and Yo Gotti are all featured throughout.
Yo Gotti and CMG announced about a year ago that they had formed a partnership with Interscope Geffen A&M, a major label that has launched the careers of many of your favorite hip-hop stars. He said in an official statement that he plans to move forward with the partnership in the following ways.
It was announced in May that Ty Dolla $ign has launched EZMNY Records, as well as that Leon Thomas is the first artist he has signed to the label. In Thomas’ latest music video, released today (Sept. 2), the duo teams up for the song, “Love Jones.” “Love Jones” is the second single off Thomas’ highly anticipated debut album, Electric Dusk, which will be released later this year. In this song, Thomas pays homage to a classic California love story:
Described by Thomas as an amalgamation of everything he loves about living in California, the video is a celebration of everything he loves about the state. This concept was made even more authentic and real with the help of a legend from L.A. like Ty Dolla $ign.”
Thomas is the second artist to have released a single under this label after his first single, “X-Rated” with Benny The Butcher. The past few years have seen him produce and write albums for several Grammy-nominated artists, including J. Cole, Post Malone, Ariana Grande,Giveon, Snoh Aalegra,Rick Ross, Kehlani, Ella Mai, and more. A recent example of Thomas’ creativity can be found in Drake’s global chart-topping album Certified Lover Boy, where he wrote and produced tracks like “Pipe Down,” “Love All” by JAY-Z, and “In the Bible” alongside Lil Durk and Giveon.
