“I Ain’t Gon To Hold Ya” features DJ Drama and Jeezy.

DJ Drama and Jeezy teamed up 17 years ago for Trap Or Die, which is considered a classic mixtape. It is with great pride that we can state that both names have become synonymous with hip hop royalty and that Gangsta Grillz and CTE World remain two of the most significant groups in hip hop history. It was announced today (Sept. 2) that Drama and Jeezy will return to work together on “I Ain’t Gon Hold Ya,” a Helluva-produced record that features the clever rhymes that Jeezy has become known for:

As well as the visual, it is accompanied by a matching video from JonnyRaw. A black-and-white picture shows Drama and Jeezy in a black-and-white setting surrounded by beautiful women, followed by a shot of the two in white supercars outside the Magic City.

There have been two years since Jeezy released The Recession 2, the sequel to The Recession, his pivotal third album. A total of 15 tracks are included in Recession 2 along with features from Yo Gotti, Tamika Mallory, E-40, Lil Duval, Demi Lovato, Ne-Yo, and Rick Ross. A mere 20 years after he first released his album in 2000, Jeezy’s 2020 release peaked within the top 20 on the Billboard 200, proving he is still relevant.

Lil Baby drops off new single and visual for “Detox”

This is the official start of Lil Baby season. A new documentary on rapper Lil Baby, Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby, was released last week, giving viewers an insight into the star’s life and career. Lil Baby follows up recent loose singles “Frozen,” “In A Minute,” and “U-Digg” with a new track titled “Detox,” which may indicate a new studio album is coming soon.

The sophomore studio LP My Turn by Lil Baby was released two years ago, and it contained 20 songs and features from Future, 42 Dugg, Gunna, Lil Uzi Vert, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez. Despite the project’s critical and commercial success, it failed to reach number one on the Billboard 200, despite selling 197,000 CD-equivalents during its first week. Several months later, a deluxe edition of the four-times Platinum effort arrived with seven additional songs, including the smash hit “We Paid” and Grammy-nominated “The Bigger Picture.”

As part of the Voice of the Heroes album, Lil Baby partnered with fellow hip hop frontrunner Lil Durk, who collaborated with artists such as Young Thug, Meek Mill, Future, and Rod Wave. In addition to topping the chart with 150,000 equivalent album units, The Voice of the Heroes also topped the Billboard chart, as well. Both parties received Platinum plaques for their efforts.

He has quickly established himself as one of the most sought after featured artists across a wide range of genres apart from his own work. Among the songs he has appeared on since The Voice of the Heroes hit the ground are EST Gee “5500 Degrees,” H.E.R. “Find A Way,” Meek Mill “Sharing Locations,” Drake “Girls Want Girls,” Kanye West “Hurricane,” Nardo Wick “Me Or Sum,” Ed Sheeran “2step (Remix),” Nicki Minaj “Do We Have A Problem?,” and DJ Khaled “BIG TIME.”

“Here We Go” video released by Lou Phelps

“Here We Go” video released by Lou Phelps

In early February, Montreal-born artist Lou Phelps released Touché EP, a collection of three songs showcasing his nimble rhyme style over electro-rap beats. As for the two previous tracks, the outro was produced by Lou Phelps himself, while the outro was assisted by his brother, Kaytranada. A music video for the EP’s title track also was released along with the EP.

Yesterday (August 16), Phelps released the official video to “Here We Go,” the first recording he has released on his own. This new video from Phelps is directed by Igal Perets, and it creates an intense environment as its focus is solely on him in a dark room as the lyrics play:

As we have previously mentioned, Phelps previously teamed up with Joyce Wrice and Oakland spitter Guapdad 4000 on the groovy collaboration track, “Oh Really? ” Together with the production of Agajon and additional production by Kiefer, the song was given an upbeat anthem vibe. “Oh Really?” is Lou Phelps’ first release since the mid-2021 singles “SOUND OF MONEY” and “Supersexe Freestyle.”
