A new album by Babyface Ray called FACE graced the masses at the beginning of the year. There are 20 tracks on the album, including G Herbo, Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa, 42 Dugg, Icewear Vezzo, Yung Lean and Landstrip Chip produced by DJ Esco, 808 Mafia, Romano, OG Parker, ATL Jacob and more. In addition to landing on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list and debuting at No. FACE made him the highest charting artist on the Independent Charts, landing at No. 2. 31 on the Billboard Top 200.
Detroit native Icewear Vezzo has released his newest visual, “6 Mile Show,” a song off his forthcoming album Southside & ATL Jacob. The song boasts an assist from Southside & ATL Jacob:
Ray has also announced the itinerary of his upcoming “Sincerely Face” tour to celebrate the release of his LP. The 21-date tour will launch in Seattle in May and conclude in Los Angeles on June 20.
In February of this year, Babyface Ray released Unfuckwitable, a 7-track EP that included guest appearances by Kash Doll, EST Gee, and Moneybagg Yo. Earlier this week, Babyface released a new single titled “Catch It.” The song was accompanied by a visual directed by Kardiak, which shows Babyface riding across sunny streetscapes, performing to large crowds, and going to the mall to complete his shopping spree.
I think Tyga is close to releasing his new album. We have already received a number of hit singles such as “Lift Me Up,” “Mrs. Bubblegum,” “Tell Santa,” and “Splash” with Moneybagg Yo. Tyga served up another emotional offering last week with “Lifetime,” which depicts him trying to balance his professional responsibilities with his personal relationships:
We have now been following Tyga’s most recent album Legendary for three years. The project originally featured 14 tracks with additional contributions from Blueface, Lil Wayne, J Balvin, Swae Lee, Chris Brown, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Gunna, Bazzi, and Offset, the latter of whom guested on Tyga’s comeback single, “Taste.” A deluxe version was later released, adding nine additional songs and collaborations with artists including Nicki Minaj, Starrah, G-Eazy, Ty Dolla $ign, Blueface, Takeoff, YG, and Rich The Kid.
After collaborating with DJ Drama in 2019, Tyga released a mixtape in 2020 called Well Done Fever. It may not surprise you to learn that he has become one of the most requested features in the game, supplying bars for songs including Mozzy and YG “Toot It Up,” Lil Tjay “Move,” Saweetie “Birthday,” Doja Cat “Freaky Deaky,” Iggy Azalea “Sip It,” and Shenseea “Target.”
Young Buck and 50 Cent have become increasingly estranged. A couple of weeks ago, Buck made an appearance on The Millionaire Podcast, where he was heard talking about how detestable his former G-Unit boss is and how he continue to be:
“The main thing I always got as a man was my personal space that I always had to protect, as well as 50 taking shots and saying things and things like that, which prompted me at that time to say many things back and forth.”
The artist explained that he initially tried to fulfill his obligations to the label by supplying 50 albums, but was met with money demands and other obstacles that prevented the project from being completed.
“The only thing I cared about was completing my contract and moving my career forward. The incident began because of him telling me that I owed him this sum of money, and I was like, “Okay that’s fine, I’ll pay you what you’re owed, if you can show me a receipt, since I never remember you handing me $250,000 or $350,000.”
Young Buck appears to be trying to handle the situation in a civil manner despite all of the chaos:
Basically, it’s just that we’re at a deadlock. I will not be going through a long, drawn-out court battle, or anything like that, when it could all be handled on a business basis, he would be able to get whatever he wants from me, and I will be able to get what I require … He can feed his children by moving on with his life, I can do the same.
In addition to his talk on bankruptcy, Buck also spoke on why he filed for bankruptcy, which Harper asked if it was directly related to 50.
“Well I don’t see that as being the main reason or anything like that. My reasoning was based on the fact that he is preventing me from being able to earn any type of income.”
It has been a while since EST Gee and 42 Dugg provided us with some hard-hitting visuals from their new mixtape, Last Ones Left, which officially dropped today and includes previous cuts like “Everybody Shooters Too” and “Free The Shiners.” Along with the project is another called “Thump Shit,” which features production from Jared Brown, Spiff Sinatra, Big Papito, and Isaiah Brown and is made up of street-oriented bars that are so multi-layered that more than one listen will not be sufficient to penetrate:
Diesel Films once again works its magic with the video for “Thump Shit,” which is a testament to what it means to live the rockstar lifestyle. As shown in various positions throughout, 42 Dugg and EST Gee are both decked out in heavy jewelry. In addition, they appear in a nightclub where Lil Baby makes an appearance.
Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group recently found success with Last Ones Left, which also features BlocBoy JB, Blac Youngsta, Moneybagg Yo, and Mozzy–the last of which Gotti announced during a CMG conference that took place over the weekend of the Super Bowl:
The legendary rapper said he has always wanted to work with an artist from the West Coast. “We’ve had big conversations, ran into each other, and shared ideas for years. Tonight, we bring our mozzy into CMG as a part of our partnership.”
Rappers have been hitting the scene in recent times and Fivio Foreign is one of those. A rapper who consistently creates bangers from singles and features without any full-length albums must be a different breed of artist. The popularity of social media and streaming is reaching new heights every day, which makes it possible that music will be here tomorrow and gone the next. Even though he has yet to prove to the world that he can overcome the odds set against him in this industry, New York rapper Eminem has proven beyond doubt that he can succeed. The highly anticipated debut album of Fivio Foreign, titled B.I.B.L.E., is now available.
In conjunction with the release of his second album, B.I.B.L.E., Brooklyn rapper Big Drip has released a documentary. Directed by Sam Balaban, the film takes an in-depth look at the life of “Big Drip” rapper, unveiling his family, the creative process of how he created music, and his experiences with losing those he loved, including his mother. One somber scene shows him saying, “I have lost family members and people close to me all my life.” “Death has always been a part of my life. When my mother died, I couldn’t forget her. When you experience these moments, you kinda wonder if God is real. But it’s important to remember that God is the reason we experience these moments. It’s natural to be sad sometimes, but we have to understand that it’s just part of life.”
Ye served as the executive producer for the album in an effort to add some sauce. Featuring 17 songs and 17 features, B.I.B.L.E. includes Ye, A$AP Rocky, Quavo, DJ Khaled, Alicia Keys, Lil Yachty, Vory, Polo G and more!
